9Q     - Christian, CX2CC  is  working  for  the  United  Nations  in  Goma,
         Democratic Republic of the Congo for one year. He plans to  operate
         SSB, digital modes and QRS CW as 9Q5OAR on 80-10  metres.  QSL  via
         home  call  (Christian  Cardarello,  Avenida  Italia  3319,   11600
         Montevideo, Uruguay). Cards will be replied "after January 2012".

9Q     - Celebrating  the  50th  anniversary  of  the  indipendende  of  the
         Democratic Republic of the  Congo,  Patrick  ON4HIL,  Theo  ON4ATW,
         Marc ON6CC, Luc ON4IA, Wim ON4CIT and Ronald PA3EWP will be  active
         as 9Q50ON on 3-13 December. They will operate SSB and CW on  160-10

5X     - Alan, G3XAQ will be visiting Kampala, Uganda from 14 November to  1
         December
.
He will operate CW only on the HF bands  as  5X1XA,  with
         100W and a small beam. He will participate  in  the  CQ  WW  DX  CW
         Contest as a single band entrant, probably on 20  metres.  QSL  via
         G3SWH.

MARTINIQUE, FM.  Andy, DL3GA is QRV as TO3GA until October 20.  He
plans to be active in the Worked All Germany contest. Outside the
contest activity is on 160 to 10 meters, and possibly 30 meters
using mostly CW, with some SSB, RTTY and PSK. QSL to home call.

PJ new for DXCC

The dissolution of the Netherland Antilles has caused changes to the DXCC List.

 

As per the DXCC rules, the two Netherland Antilles DXCC entities will be deleted and moved to the Deleted Entities List.  Four new entities will be added to the DXCC List : (1) Curacao; (2) St. Maarten; (3) Saba and St. Eustatius; and (4) Bonaire.  The event date and time for these changes will be 0400Z, 10 October, 2010.  Confirmations for these new entities will be accepted for credit starting 1 January, 2011.

 

Other administrative changes and actions will be announced as they are finalized.

H40, TEMOTU PROVINCE. German operators Peter/DG1FK and Sigi/DK9FN will
once again return to Temotu Province and be active as H40FK and H40FN,
respectively, this time from Nendo Island (OC-100) between December 21st
and January 3rd (2011).
Activity will be on CW, PSK and RTTY. Operations
will probably be on 160-6 meters depending on the band conditions. QSL
H40FN via HA8FW, and H40FK via DG1FK. More details should be forthcoming.

activate 9Q50ON from Kinshasa between December 3-13th. The special event
callsign is to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the independence of the
Democratic Republic of Congo. Activity will be on 160-6 meters using CW

ZD9 - TRISTAN DA CUNHA, AF-029
     Ulli,DL2AH, will show up as ZD9AH from Tristan da Cunha (AF-029)
     between Oct 10 and Dec 6. Please keep in mind that this is a holiday
     and NOT a DXpedition. Nevertheless he plans to take part in the
     WAG Contest, the CQ WWDX contests and the JADX Contest. His equipment
     includes a Yaesu FT-897 (barefoot) and a Windom antenna. Ulli works in
     SSB most of the time but promised to be active also in RTTY by the end
     of November. The QSLs will be sent out after his reurn home in January.
     QSL cards can be sent either via bureau or direct to DL2AH.

PJ ACTIVITY. During the next three weeks (starting 10/10/10), DXers
will be treated to something special that they have never seen before
- multiple new DXCC entities. Expect huge pileups and probably plenty
of confusion. It is suggested to "PLEASE be patient", "LISTEN" and "KNOW"
who/what you are working. Even though the PJ islands are expected to be
new DXCC entities, they will NOT be totally rare ones and will be easily
accessible for future operations. With over 11 operations expected to
be on the air during the next month, observe/listen first and then have
fun working them.
