VP6D - An expedition to Ducie Island (OC-182) is being organized to take
place in February 2008. Landing permissions and licences have been
granted, and a suitable charter vessel has been secured. A team of
13 experienced operators (currently including Carsten/DL6LAU,
Eric/K3NA, Dietmar/DL3DXX, Andy/DL8LAS, Martti/OH2BH, Robin/WA6CDR
and Krassimir/K1LZ) will be active on 160-6 metres with seven
stations as VP6DX from 11 to 23 February. The group is seeking
financial contributions to help defray the very significant costs of
this DXpedition. Full details on how contribute can be found on the

In a mail sent by HK1X Pedro Claver it shows evident the WW attention for an
operation from this rare and remote Island of the State of Colombia.
Olli OHOXX went to visit the city of Cartagena a while ago, and show
interest about this plan. Picture here on the right show Olli OH0XX,
Eduardito HK3JRL & PEDRO HK1X.
Pedro hopes to get some volunteers to join him while planning a DX-pedition
to Malpelo HKO/M. They hope to get a team of 15 operators (about 9 or 10
from Colombia) the others from the rest of the world.

１Ｂ１ＡＢがＱＲＶ Northern Cyprus

Hello everybody

I would like to bring to your attention again about the illegal
operation from an ex G0ETX station (probably not British) as 1B1AB on
the HF bands. As we all know the country with name "Northern Cyprus"
does not exist under the UN and this so called part of Cuprys has
been occupied for years after taken by invading forces. I would
appreciate if you could inform hf operators in your countries that
this is an illegal operation and although 1B1AB claims that complains
by many of us are bringing "politics" into ham radio, it is him that
is doing so expecting us to approve his operation without terms. I am
afraid that he is doing so on purpose. As a habitant of Cyprus we
already advised him to ask the legal government of Cyprus to provide
a license to transmit by using the legal country prefix of 5B4.

The Polish DXpedition to Agalega next month has issued a press release
in reference to their callsign. "Due to the fact, that 3B6DX had
already been assigned to another station, ICTA changed our
expedition's callsign to 3B6SP", reports SP9MRO, Witek. The team
still plans to fly to Agalega on Monday May 28th. Two of the team
members have already arrived on Mauritius in preparation for the

ＯＤ５ ６月５日～

ON4JM, Jean-Marc Rosiere, is expected to be in Lebanon between June
5th and mid-August. This is not a DXpedition. He is a member of the
Belgian Army Medical Service, stationed there to assist UN Forces to
find and disarm unexploded bombs and land mines. He is expected to be
QRV in his spare time on CW, SSB, RTTY and digital modes on 10 through
80 meters, possibly on 160 meters. Jean-Marc has a Web page at

ＩＯＴＡ ＮＡ－２０６

７月１２日～１７日までＮＡ－２０６よりＷの連中がＱＲＶします。

Alaska USA (KL7): IOTA NA-206: Marvin Baur, KL1YY; Bob Wertz, NF7E; and Art Phillips, NN7A will operate from Ushagat Island, Alaska (IOTA NA-206) from July 12-17, 2007. They will have two stations using 100 watt transceivers with vertical, wire, and kite antennas. Operation will be cw by NN7A/NL7 and ssb by KL1YY and NF7E/KL7 on 160-10 m with ssb on 20 m and 15 m IOTA frequencies as conditions permit. No digital or vhf operation is planned.

There are no existing facilities on Ushagat, so operation will be from a camp set up by the operators using battery and generator power. Email and log checking will not be possible during the operation.
