According to Taiwan's Foreign Ministry, the Taiwanese National Day (Double 10 Day) ceremony held in Taipei on Oct. 10 was attended by over 140 foreign guests including the U.S. and, as well as PM Feleti Teo of Tuvalu, which has diplomatic relations with Taiwan.
From Japan, five Upper House lawmakers, who are members of the bipartisan Diet members organization, "Japan-Taiwan parliamentarians consultative council" (correct name in English is unknown), participated in it.
According to the Taiwanese Presidential Office, the Japan-Taiwan Parliamentarians Consultative Council delegation held a meeting with President Lai Ching-te after the ceremony.
Lai remarked that "I hope that the friendship between Taiwan and Japan will become even stronger and the bilateral person to person exchanges will become more frequent from now on."

Other than Sugita and Uesugi, the LDP has postponed a decision on how to treat Asako Omi (proportional representative northern Kanto block), who may run in the proportional block alone.
All three were former members of the Abe faction. It's forecasted that the LDP will continuously discuss how to treat Omi.
In response to the non-entering information case, Sugita was suspended from party positions for six months.
On Oct. 7, the LDP Yamaguchi fixed a policy to field her as the candidate in the proportional representative Chugoku block alone and applied for official endorsement to the party headquarters.
