Good morning and thank so much for visiting English Plus blog!
Today, I'd like to introduce an English training method to improve listening skills.
At English Plus, we support our students to improve their basic English skills both in and outside the classroom.
We often tell our students that "taking English lessons is important", and "doing self-study is also important." (Self-study includes lesson review, homework and so on.)
If our students would like some advice on English study, we try to give advice and suggest some training methods.
Today, I'd like to introduce one of the training methods we can recommend to our students.
Today's training is called "Rapid Reading Out Loud training."
This training can help anyone but especially those who think native English speakers' English is too fast.
What you need to prepare for this training is "an English book with CD (e.g. dialogue book)"
How to do the training is here...
1. Listen to the CD once without the script
2. Read it out loud twice with the CD and the script
3. Stop the CD and read it out loud as fast as you can five times
4. Read it out loud again with the CD
After this training, you might feel English is slow.
If you doubt, please try!
If you continue doing this rapid reading out loud training, it helps you improve your listening skills little by little.

How to do the training is here...
1. Listen to the CD once without the script
2. Listen to the CD, read the script silently and check the pronunciation
3. Read the sentences out loud with looking at the script along with the CD
4. Once again, read the sentences out loud with looking at the script along with the CD
5. Shadow the sentences without the script
If you continue doing this reading out loud & dictation training, it helps you improve your listening & speaking skills little by little.

Today, I'd like to introduce an English training method to improve listening skill.
There was an official TOEIC test this past Sunday, and the next one is about a month away.
We still have some time, so let's prepare for the next TOEIC test every day from today.
There are some training methods we can do but one of the training methods I would like to recommend today is called "Dictation training."
Dictation training is good to help you improve listening skills.
What you need to prepare for this training is...
1. An English book with CD (e.g. dialogue book)
2. A pen and a notebook
How to do the training is quite simple.
1. Listen to a CD once without the script
2. Listen to the same CD 5~10 times to jot down what you hear (*even if you can't hear some words, don’t stop the CD in the middle of the dialogue)
3. Check the script to see if what you've written down is correct (*check the spelling too)
4. Read out loud with the CD
If you continue doing this dictation training, your listening skill and TOEIC listening score may improve!

English Plus（英語学校）の英会話のレッスンの中には、料理・調理方法に関するレッスンがあります。

レッスンの中では、調理方法など料理や調理に関することを英語で学んで会話をしますが、料理は日常の生活において身近なトピックだと思います。

今日は日常英会話形式で、いくつかの調理方法を英語で学んでいきたいと思います。

Today, I’d like to recommend an English training to strengthen your listening skill!
The training takes only 5 minutes, and it’s easy to carry out!
The training is called“Dictation training” and what you need to prepare is a book with CD, here I just pick up a book entitled "Real 180 situations - dialogue book."
Here is the procedure:
1.Listen to a dialogue once without the script (*only English part)
2.Listen to the same dialogue 5 times (to maximum 10 times) to jot down what you hear (*don’t stop the CD in the middle of the dialogue)
3.Check the script to see if what you’ve written down is correct
The point of dictation training is...
・you don’t have to dictate the dialogue completely
・however, you should know what you couldn't hear and to get familiar with the previously unknown vocabulary
・you should read out loud the sentence that includes the unknown vocabulary
If you continue doing this training, your listening skill will improve for sure!
Just try it!

本日は“英語耳を作ろう！！毎日５分のディクテーショントレーニングのすすめ”です。

今日おすすめのトレーニングは約５分で終わる手軽なトレーニングです。

トレーニングは”Dictation（ディクテーション）”トレーニングと言い、耳を鍛えるのにとても効果的です。

このディクテーショントレーニングで必要な教材はCDとスクリプトがあるものであれば何でもOKですが、ここでは“リアルな日常表現１８０場面 - 英会話ダイアローグブック”をとりあげます。

以下、トレーニングのすすめ方です：

１．スクリプト（本）を見ずに英語の部分のみを聞く

２. ５回くらい（最大１０回くらい）同じものを聞き、聞きとれた単語・文章を書き取る（ＣＤを途中で止めないのがポイント、聞けなくても聞こえたところからひたすら書き取る）

３．スクリプト（本）を見て書き取った文章をチェックする

ディクテーショントレーニングのポイントは・・・

・完璧に一語・一語書き取られなくてもＯＫ

・ですが、書きとれなかった（聞きとれなかった）部分を確認すること

・聞き取れなかった部分を音読して自分のモノにすること

などです。

このディクテーショントレーニングを毎日続けることで、リスニング力がアップすること間違いなしです。

Today, I’m going to introduce a good training method to improve listening skill in order to get used to the speed of natural English!

The training I’m going to introduce from now on is good for those who want to get used to the speed of natural English and this is effective for TOEIC listening.
Here is how…
1. Pick up CD which contains a conversation (dialogue)
2. Listen to it with the script (*Check the pronunciation)
3. Read it out loud with the CD
4. Stop the CD and read the conversation out loud as fast as you can
5. Continue reading it out loud as fast as you can 5 times (*without CD)
6. Read it out loud again with the CD
If you continue training, naturally, you ears will be able to catch some English and get used to native English speakers’ speaking speed!
If you doubt it, just try it first!

今日おすすめの速音読トレーニングは“自然な英語のスピードに慣れたい方”また“TOEICのスピードに慣れたい方”にとても効果があるので、おすすめです。

早速ですが、トレーニング方法の紹介です。

１．英会話（２人の会話 - Dialogue）が入っているＣＤを選びます

２．発音を確認するようにスクリプトを見ながらＣＤを聞きます

３．今度はＣＤと同時に音読します（スクリプトを見ながら）

４．ＣＤを一旦止め、自分の一番早く英語を読めるスピードで音読をします（スクリプトを見ながら）

５．上記の４と同じＣＤなしの速音読トレーニングを５回繰り返します。

６．最後にＣＤをかけ、ＣＤと同時に音読でスピードの確認をします。

この速音読トレーニングを続けますと、自然と英語のスピードに慣れてきます。

TOEICの教材でもこのトレーニングは実行可能なので、TOEICのスピードに慣れたい方は是非お試しを！

Today, I’m going to write about the secret relationship between TOEIC Part 7 (Reading) and TOEIC Part 3&4 (Listening).
As you probably know that TOEIC is composed of 7 parts of the test - Part 1-4 is Listening, and Part 5-7 is Reading.
Each part is different so it seems that they are not related with each other, but as you see Part 3&4 closely, you will notice that Part 3&4 requires Reading skill, especially Part 7, in addition to Listening skill.

So, what you have to do to get a higher score in TOEIC is to read at least the questions before listening to the dialogue or monologue. (if possible, you should read the answer choices before or while listening to the dialogue or monologue too.)
If you are thinking about taking the TOEIC test soon, you should prepare for it by reading as much as possible!!

本日は“意外と知られていないTOEIC Part 7のリーディング力向上がPart3&4のリスニングに効果があるという事実”です。

TOEICを受験された方はご存知だとは思いますが、TOEICテストはPart 1-4のリスニングテストとPart5-7のリーディングテストの計７つのパートから成っている英語のテストです。

各パートは違うので、一見すると関連がないように見えますが、Part3と4の問題をよく見てみると、この２つのパートはリスニング力に加え、Part 7で必要な問題を読む“リーディング力”が必要なことに気づかれると思います。

なので、このPart3&4で点数を取るためには、音を聞く前に少なくとも問題に目を通しておく必要があります。（可能であれば、４択の解答に目を通せるとなお良いです）

TOEICを受験する予定の方で、Part3&4が苦手だと感じている方は、リスニングのトレーニングに加え、今から簡単に読める本でリーディング力をアップさせて準備しておくことをおすすめします。
