The other day after a lesson, our students were talking about their pets.
According to their talk, they have a lot of pets such as cats, dogs, fish, and some interesting insects that I have never heard before.
The students said each pet's character is different.
So, today let's learn some adjectives to describe pet's nature.
For example, "My cat is..."
・gentle
・tame
・quiet
・tranquil
・rowdy
・unruly
・wild
・vicious
In your daily or business conversation, you might have a chance to talk about pets, so let's learn some adjectives now!

本日は“ペットの気性“穏やか～激しい”を表現する時に使える英語”についてです。

先日、レッスン終了後に、生徒の方々がペットについての話をしていました。

少しお話をお聞きしたところ、生徒の方々は色々なペットを飼われているらしく、猫や犬、魚、自分が今まで名前も聞いたことがない虫など飼われている方もいらっしゃるということでした。

また、猫を何匹か飼われている生徒の方は“同じ種類でも一匹・一匹ペットの気性は違う”というような話もしていました。

そんな今日は“ペットの気性～穏やか・激しい”を表現する時に使える英語を学んでいきたいと思います。

Today, I'd like to inform you of a new menu at English Plus cafe.
There are some goods available at our cafe, for example...
If you have a sweet tooth, we recommend you try our hand-made sweets such as "komeko-roll", which is a swill roll made with 100% rice flour.
Also some hand-made baked sweets, such as "brownie", and hand-made bread, such as "komeko cheese bread" are great when you are a bit hungry!
We also have several drinks, such as coffee and tea, all of which are good with our sweets!
Speaking of drinks, we just made a new item - hot chocolate in our menu!
In my opinion, hot chocolate makes you feel warm inside!
It's available from today, try our new taste!

また、少し小腹が空いた時におすすめしたいのが“ブラウニー”などの手作りの焼き菓子や、もちもち食感が特徴の“米粉チーズブレッド”などの手作りブレッドです。

これらのスイーツやブレッドに合う、コーヒーや紅茶などのドリンクを取り揃えています。

そんなドリンク類に新しいメニュー“hot chocolate（ホットチョコレート）”が仲間入りしました。

I can't believe that it's already the last day of November!
Today, I'd like to introduce our original hand-made sweets at English Plus' cafe.
At our cafe, there are some sweets, such as Cheese cake, Swill roll, Chiffon cake, Brownie, Madeleine, Cookies and so on.
We also have Cheese bread made with rice flour, and Muffin, which customers can eat as a light meal.
All of the items at our cafe are hand-made!
At lunch time from 11:30～, we serve a lunch plate with drink & dessert.
The contents of lunch plate are different daily and so is dessert.
It depends on a day, but you might have a chance to try one of our original sweets or something that is not in the menu!
Currently, we are serving Komeko-roll, which is a swiss roll made with 100% rice flour and maple syrup instead of sugar.
Everything is hand-made; therefore, the number is limited.
If you have a chance to visit, please try!!

早いことに本日で１１月も終わりですが、今日は“English Plusカフェの手作りのオリジナルスイーツなどについて”です。

English Plusカフェでは様々なオリジナルスイーツ（チーズケーキ・米粉ロール・シフォンケーキ・ブラウニー・マドレーヌ・クッキーなど）を用意しています。

またスイーツの他、米粉１００％もちもちのチーズブレッドやマフィンなどの軽食もあります。

１１時３０分～のランチ時には日替わりのランチプレート・ドリンク・日替わりデザートを提供していますが、デザートは日替わりのためメニューには書いていないスイーツをお出しすることもあります。

ちなみにランチの日替わりデザートは米粉１００％＋メープルシロップ使用（砂糖不使用）の米粉ロールになっています。

カフェで提供している商品は全て手作りのため日によっては、在庫がない商品もありますが、機会があれば是非お試しください！

I’d like to write about food in Canada today.

When you imagine Canadian food, what one Canadian food do you think of?
Salmon?
Maple syrup?
Alberta beef?
Since Canada is a country consisting of a lot of immigrants, there are a lot of styles of food, such as Greek, Italian, Indian, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Lebanese, Germany, Polish and so on.,
Though there are a lot of varieties of food in Canada, as far as I know, there are not so many kinds of Canadian food.
However, if I name one, that is “Poutine.”
Poutine is composed of French fries with gravy source and cheese.
I have never seen one in Japan, so if you have a chance to try it in Canada, you should!!

“カナダの食べ物”と聞いた時、どの食べ物を思い浮かべますか？

サーモン？

メープルシロップ？

アルバータビーフ？

ご存知の通り、カナダは移民の国で本当にたくさんの種類の食べ物（ギリシャ、イタリア、インド、中国、韓国、日本、レバノン、ドイツ、ポーランドなど多数）があります。

たくさんの種類の食べ物をいろいろと食べることができるのが、カナダという国ですが、カナダという国の食べ物は（自分の知っている限り）あまり多くありませんが、
１つカナダ独特の食べ物を挙げるとすれば、”Poutine（プーティン）”でしょうか。

プーティンは、フライドポテトの上にグレイビーソース（肉のソース）とチーズをかけたものです。

日本では、（自分は）まだ見たことがありませんので、もしカナダでチャンスがあればトライしてみてください！！

おはようございます。英語講師のarataです。

いよいよTOEIC公開テストが明日に迫ってきました。

自分の生徒の方々にはレッスンを通して日々、いろいろなアドバイスをしているのですが、前日の準備としてのアドバイスをもう一つ付け加えるのならば“公式問題集を解く”→“間違えたところの確認”です。

リスニングのパートで間違えた問題はスクリプトを見て、音読（Repeating / Shadowing / Dictation）を何回もしておきましょう。

リーディングのパートで間違えた問題は解説をしっかり読み、なぜ間違えたかを確認しておきましょう。そしてまた寝る前に“間違えた問題のみ”をもう一度、解いてみましょう。

ここまで来たらしっかり自分の実力を出すために、体調を整えて万全の体制で臨みましょう！！

明日はお互いにがんばりましょう！！

P.S. 昨日はいつもお世話になっているダーツカフェ“Figaro 原宿 H-14”にてレッスンがあり、レッスン後、“夏野菜のチーズカレー”をいただきました。
やはり、夏はカレーですね！！チーズとカレーがマッチしていてとてもおいしかったです。ごちそうさまでした!!

Since the TOEIC test is tomorrow, I'd like to advise what to do the day before the test.
I recommend "trying the official TOEIC book" & "checking the mistakes."
If you make a mistake in the Listening section, check the script and read out loud with the CD.
If you make a mistake in the Reading section, read the explanation and understand why you've made the mistake.
Also, try the question again that you've made a mistake before going to bed.
I hope you have a great preparation day & do the best tomorrow!!
P.S. I had a lesson again at Figaro Harajuku H-14 yesterday, and I tried the cheese curry. It was tasty!! Thanks a lot!!
