Good morning and thank you very much for stopping by English Plus blog!
Today, I'd like to write about my recent activity during this holiday season.
There is a holiday left for me so I'm preparing to get English Plus started these days!
The other day, I cleaned the air conditioners and waxed the floor.
Though the space wasn't so big, it took a couple of hours to finish waxing.
Anyway, the waxing is done and now the floor is as good as new!
There are still some other things to do during this holiday, so I'm going to take care of them little by little!

本日は“2013年スタート準備のための掃除＆フロアのワックスがけ”についてです。

English Plusは明日（１月７日）オープンということもあり、この休みの期間にスタートに向けた準備を色々としています。

先日は、エアコンの清掃とEnglish Plus Cafeのワックスがけを行いました。

ワックスがけのスペースはそれほど大きくないにも関わらず、久々のせいか、思ったよりも時間がかかってワックスがけ終了となりました。

時間はかかりましたが、昨年末から行いたかったワックスがけも無事に終了し、フロアが再びきれいになったと思います！

まだまだ、オープン前までにするべきことがあるので、１つずつオープンに向けて準備していきたいと思います！

Good morning and thank you very much for visiting English Plus blog!
Today, I'd like to write about my recent travel experience abroad.
At the end of last year, I was abroad and had a chance to use English.
This time, I went to some asian countries whose mother tongues are not English.
What surprised me most was that almost all of the people whom I met and talked with were able to communicate in English!
I asked for directions and had a small talk with taxi drivers, local pedestrians, janitors, coffee shop clerks, travelers and so on.
I could communicate in English with most of them!
Even though their English was not always easy to understand because of their pronunciation and grammar problems, we had no problem communicating in English.
From this experience, I felt that English has truly become the world common language and in my opinion every Japanese should learn English in order to communicate with people around the world.
We don't have to master perfect English (grammar and pronunciation) since it's not necessary just for communication!
English is not difficult!
Let's get prepared from now!

本日は“英語講師の年末の海外旅行から学ぶ英語に関する話”です。

昨年の暮れは海外にいたこともあり、英語を使う機会がありました。

この旅では、英語が母国語ではないアジアの何カ国かを訪れましたが、驚いたことに、お会いしたほとんどの方々と英語でのコミュニケーションをとることが可能でした。

タクシーの運転手、地元の方々、掃除の人、コーヒーショップの店員、旅行者など色々な方に、道や方向を尋ねたり、スモールトークをしましたが、ほとんど問題なく英語コミュニケーションが大丈夫でした。

正直なところ、お会いした方々の英語は発音や文法の問題もあり、少し理解が難しい点がありましたが“英語での意思疎通”という点では問題なかったと思います。

今回の旅行で個人的に感じた点は“英語が世界の共通言語”になっているという現実という点と、アジア諸国に負けない位、日本人も“英語コミュニケーション力（挨拶・意思疎通）をつけるべき”だと思いました。

英語でのコミュニケーションを図る上で、文法・発音などネイティブ並みの英語力をつける必要はないと個人的に思います。

まずは“相手の言っていることが理解できる”、“簡単に自分の意思が伝えられる”英語力が必要だと思います。

英語は考えるほど、難しい言語ではないので、少しずつでも英語力を伸ばしていきましょう！

Now, it's already December! (Time flies!)
The other day, I asked my students "Are you busy these days?" and they said, "Yes, it's because there are a lot of events this month."
It's at the end of 2012 and everyone is busy!
So, today let's learn some end-of-year events in English!

・hangover
・spring cleaning at the end of year
These English vocabulary words could be useful when you talk about some events this time!

本日は“年末に社会人に必須のイベントを英語で言ってみよう”です。

今年もすでに１２月に入りました！（Time flies!“光陰矢の如し”です）

先日、生徒の方々に"Are you busy these days?（最近はお忙しいですか？）"という質問をしたところ、"Yes, it's because there are a lot of events this month.（この時期は色々とイベントがあって、忙しい）"という返答が返ってきました。

そんな今日はこの“年末の時期に社会人に必須のイベント”を英語で学んでいきたいと思います。

例えば…

・end-of-year party （忘年会）

・second party （二次会）

・girls' night out （女子会）

・bar hopping （はしご酒）

・street stall （屋台）

・hangover （二日酔い）

・spring cleaning at the end of year （大掃除）

上記のイベントを英語で話すことがあるかもしれませんので、今から準備しておきましょう。

ちなみに上記のイベントを文章で作ると、例えば“Next week, I'm going to join my company's end-of-year party."（来週、会社の忘年会に参加する予定です）のように作れます。

１つ文章を作ってみましょう！

Today, let's learn some English about cleaning.
The day before yesterday, I introduced some English vocabulary about cleaning in this blog.
There are a lot of goods for cleaning and also there are a lot of actions for cleaning.
So, today let's learn English about actions when cleaning!
For example, "Every morning, I..."
・clean up the house / tidy up the house
・sweep the floor
・vacuum the carpet
・fill the bucket with water and wet a cloth
・wipe windows with a cloth
・clean the floor with a mop
When you clean up your room, think about what you are doing in English!

一昨日のブログで“掃除用具”に関する英語を紹介しました。

掃除用具には様々な物があるのと同様に、掃除をする時には色々な動作があります。

今日はいくつか“掃除での動作”に関する英語を学んでいきたいと思います。

例えば、"Every morning, I..."（毎朝、私は…）

・clean up the house / tidy up the house （家の掃除をする）

・sweep the floor （床を掃く）

・vacuum the carpet （じゅうたんに掃除機をかける）

When you clean your house, what tools do you use?
"soujiki?"
"houki?"
"Matsui-bou?" (At English Plus, this Matsui-bou is very useful!)
Today, let's learn these cleaning goods in English!
For instance...

・garbage can (or trash can, waste basket, dustbin)
・cloth
・mop
・bucket (or pail)
・cleaner (or cleanser)
When you use one of them above, try to call it in English!

今日のブログは家の掃除に関することですが、毎日、家の掃除をしていらっしゃる方や、時々、家の掃除をするという方もいらっしゃると思います。

“マツイ棒？”
（余談ですが、English Plusでは、マツイ棒がとても役に立っています！）

The activity is, I think, everyone does almost every day.
Yes, today's vocabulary is about laundry, however, the vocabulary related to laundry is not familiar with Japanese.
So, let's learn and practice from now!
For example...

・hamper
・detergent
・softener
・laundry pole
・drier
・drycleaner
Also, you can use these in your sentences...
・do the laundry
・load the washing machine with the detergent
・hang out my clothes to dry
When you have a chance to talk about laundry, please try to use them!

洗濯は身近で日常的な活動ですが、洗濯に関する英語はそれほど馴染みがないと思います。

Today, I’d like to write about my recent story about English Plus.
Since January 9th is the first day of 2012 for English Plus, I'm currently preparing to get English Plus started.
There are a few things I have to tackle this time.
To be specific, I'm working on a new curriculum - English for Elementary school 5th&6th grade, making a lesson for kids lessons at Junkudo on Sunday, cleaning the place, preparing English Plus' flyer and so on.
Just 3 days to to, so I'll do the best I can to get started in 2012!

本日は“２０１２年English Plusスタートへ向けた準備”です。

English Plusの２０１２年のスタートが１月９日ということで、現在はスタートに向けた準備をしています。

２０１２年のスタートに向けて、いろいろと取り組んでいることがあります。

具体的には・・・小学校５・６年生用英語レッスンの準備、渋谷のジュンク堂さんでの日曜日のキッズレッスンの準備、English Plusの掃除・片付け、English Plusのチラシの準備など。

２０１２年のスタートまであと３日！

良いスタートができるように、しっかりと準備をしていきたいと思います！

Today, I'd like to announce the opening of my English school, English Plus.
At 10 a.m. today, my English school & English environment cafe, English Plus opened!!
About last night, I went outside to pass some flyers, which just came in last evening.
This morning, I cleaned my English place, and I prepared for the show time!!
Actually, a lot of flowers and cheers from friends, relatives, business associates came in (before customers came)!!
I really really really thank to all who have helped me, also who have checked this blog!!
I'll continue doing my best!!

本日１０時、遂に英語学校・英語環境カフェEnglish Plusをオープンしました！

昨夜は、昨日の夕方に届いたばかりのチラシを手配りに行き、
今朝はオープンに向け学校・カフェの掃除をしました。

昨日から今日にかけ、友人、親戚、ビジネス関係の方々からたくさん応援やお花をいただきました。
ありがとうございました！

また、オープンまでいろいろと助けてくれた皆様、ならびにブログを読んでくださる皆様、ありがとうございます。
何とかオープンまでこぎつけることができたのも皆様のお蔭です。
ここに御礼を申し上げます。

これからも一歩ずつ前進していきたいと思います！！

Thank you for your checking out this blog!
Today, I'd like to write about what I did yesterday.
Yesterday, with my family and uncle's help, I cleaned my English school and cafe.
Especially, we focused on cleaning the windows this time.
We tried very hard to clean the windows and balconies, which were dirty.
However, thanks to their help, they became much cleaner than before!
My uncle also gave me some tips for my business, which were very useful!
There are only 5 days left until my English school's opening day.
I always appreciate those who have helped me!
I'll prepare little by little!!

本日は“英語学校オープンに向けたラストスパート”です。

昨日、家族と叔父が英語学校とカフェの掃除を手伝ってくれました。

今回、特に集中して掃除した箇所は、汚れていた窓とベランダでした。

集中的に掃除していただいたお陰で、以前よりかなりキレイな状態になりました。
ありがとうございました。

また、叔父には色々なビジネスのアドバイスもしていただき、とても感謝しています。

英語学校オープンまで残り５日間。

色々な方に感謝しながら、少しずつ準備をすすめたいと思います！！
