Mount Shinmoedake has erupted for a third time, Japanese Meteorological Agency reports.

気象庁 噴火予報・警報 : 霧島山（新燃岳）
The active volcano is located on the border between Miyazaki and Kagoshima prefecture. It spewed some ashes in 19 Jan and showed some activity in last Saturday. Yesterday morning, it started emitting heat clouds at 0731 local time.
"A great deal of ashes falls with sounds like raining. It's worse than 19 Jan's", a local official said. "There are some small lapili around here, and we can't see ten metres ahead. Drivers turned headlight on."
The level 3 alert was issued. From now on the area about two kilometres around the crater is restricted to enter.
Shin-moe-dake means "newly-burned(bursted)-mountain".
