Do-Heon Kim has revealed former Wolve midfielder Seol Ki-Hyeon played a big part in persuading him to join Albion.
The new loan signing consulted his Korea Republic team-mate, who spent Two years at the Bggies's Black Country rivals, before deciding on a loan move to The Hawthorns.
Ki-Hyeon is now playing for Fulham following a spell at Reading and Kim, who has joined with a view to a parmanent move, is hoping to be as successful as him in England.
"Seol told me I could learn mor about the style of English football by playing in the Championship," hi said.
"He said the league is more tough and powerful than in Korea."
"He persuaded me that West Brom would be a good place to get used to English football."
The 25-year-old midfielder's move has caused a stir back in his homeland, where his wedding was recently front-page news.
And Kim admits that although he has a long way to go before he gets to grips with the language, life in England is much less frantic.
"Many Korean fans of British football don't know about West Bromwich Albion," he added.
"But now I'm here many Korean people and broadcasters are getting intersted in this club."
"In Korea everything is very quick, quick and everyone is rushing about."
"In England everyone is very calm, which allows me to concentrate on the football."
"Because I can't speak English at all it means I can focus on my football more."
"But sometimes it is frustrating not being able to communicate with the other players."
"I'm taking two English lessons a week and I'm making every effort to learn as quickly as possible."
Tony Mowbray is predicting a bright future for the on-loan Seongnam Chunma star at The-Hawthorns from what he has seen in the short time he has been at the club.
"I judge footballers on how they train as well as play," he said.
"If I see hem train everyday and yet his opportunities in games are limited, for whatever reason, I like to think I will look beyond six months and see a talented player."
"I can see that now and I think his future will be bright here because hi has talent."
"I like technical players and Kim is definitely a technical player."
"He has good vision and understands the flow of a game."

The Albion chief also feels Kim's versatility could be a useful weapon as his fourth-placed troops aim to clinch automatic promotion.
"We have plenty of ways we can play and when Kim came on at the weekend against Coventry he played as an advanced midfield player behind a striker," added Mowvray.
"I think he can play in many formations-behind one striker, behind two strikers and, once he becomes accustomed to the work ethic and physicality of the Championship, he could play centre, left or right in a four-man midfield."
"I'm sure he'll adapt to that."
"He must compete and run but there will be some days when I don't ask him to compete or run too much because the formation we put out will be one to counter-attack."
