of a refrigerator , with a dark line across the facade at the ninth floor , as if delineating
the freezer compartment . Modified Moorish , the SOCK brochure had called it . True ,
there were some arches and a marquee and two large ornamental lanterns of Spanish
persuasion , but on the whole it looked like a refrigerator . Not so in 1901 perhaps , when
iceboxes were made of golded oak , but now・・・
Qwilleran made a U-turn and pulled up to the curb , where the city permitted twenty-minute parking . He unloaded the cat carrier and the turkey roaster and then ,
taking care to lock all four doors , approached the shabby enterance .
タイトルにある次のiPhone とは、もちろん今日発売のiPhone4S のことではなくその次のiPhone のことです
ジョブズ氏が亡くなった時に、なぜか究極のiPhone ってどんなんだろう？という疑問が湧いてきて想像せずにはいられなかったのです
実は、私自身はスマートフォンを使ったことは一度もありません
なので、究極のとか次世代のとか言っても、今のスマートフォンの機能すらあまり知らないのに、
ちょっと無茶かな～と思ったんですが、楽しいので考え続けました（笑）
私が考えた未来のiPhone は・・・念のため言うと、未来のスマホじゃなく、あくまで未来のiPhone です。
こんなことわりを入れたのは、ジョブズ氏の意思（遺志）を受け継いだスマートフォンだったらという
前程での想像だということを、念押ししたかったからです。もしそうじゃないなら、
想像も全然違ったものになる可能性が高いからです。
ちょっと前置きが長くなりましたが・・・私が想像したiPhone
は、こうです
コンセプトは「感じるスマートフォン、応えるスマートフォン」です。声でユーザーを感知して、
要望に可能な限り人間に近い感覚で応えてくれるスマートフォンです。
究極系は・・・分身か友達的なスマートフォン。できれば、人工知能を持つぐらい人間的なスマートフォン！
・・・と言ったら、あまりに飛躍しすぎて、少し頭がおかしいんじゃないかと思われてしまいそうなので、
もう少し現実的なイメージで言うと、まずは、ペット的なものから。ファービーっておもちゃ覚えてますか？
話しかけると言葉を認識していろんな反応をする、話しかけ方次第で、いろんなパターンに育つ・・・
というようなぬいぐるみのおもちゃがあったのですが、最初はそんな感じ。

それが、もちょっと進化して、アシスタントか秘書的な要望に応えてくれる役立つ機能を持ち、でもそれじゃちょっと機械的過ぎて冷たい感じがするから、
もうちょっとやわらかいイメージの友達的なレベルにもっていけると究極なんじゃないかと思う。
そんなこと考えていて、ユーザーを特定して認識する機能として音声認証とかできるかな？
と調べていたら・・・音声認識アシスタント機能 の「siri」が引っ掛かってきて驚いた
なんと！iPhone4S の話題の新機能だそうで・・・。
ちょっと感動した。あはは、もうそこまできてたのか。空想じゃなくて・・・
完敗！
今後のiPhoneの進化から目が離せないっていうか、すごい楽しみ
