『脳が変わる考え方』茂木健一郎著（2010.12）よりPick up

実は、Pick up するような英文は、ほとんど無くて・・・単語がいくつかあるだけ
なのですが、第５章の「脱藩のすすめ」が面白かったので、載せました
内容は、書かないので興味のある方は、本のほうを読んで頂きたいのですが・・・

ネコバナナ TWENTY－FOUR・・・とりあえずEND

Qwilleran marched the Siamese up to their sleeping room on the balcony, said
goodnight, and closed the door. The latter was merely an end-of-the-day gesture;
Koko could open the door whenever he felt like going downstairs to watch the nightlife
on the riverbank.

“ Yow! ”came a howl too close to Qwilleran's ear for comfort. Koko had opened
his bedroom door, crept stealthily downstairs , and leapt noiselessly to the back of
Qwilleran's chair , where he was now teetering.
“What are you doing down here ? ”Qwilleran demended. Koko sprang to the table
and sat on a stack of papers in a ready-for -business pose.
His presence brought back many a recollection. Koko had shown a pointed dislike of
Alden by avoiding him. And he had gone one slippery step further＿one slippery step,
on a banana peel !
Qwilleran closed his journal.
“Okay,” he said to Koko. “Let's see what we can find in the kitchen.”
He poured some kabbibbles into the cats' plates and had a large dish of
ice cream of himself.

２４回にわたって pick up ＆ typing してきたネコバナナですが・・・
ラストシーンを今、タイピングし終わりました～
ほんの一部分ではありますが・・・なんとなく伝わったでしょうか？
繰り返し登場したのは、ネコたちにえさを与えるシーン
そして自分の朝食には、シリアル＆スライスバナナ
ドクターから健康のため勧められた、苦手なバナナを毎日食べ続けるクィラランが健気です
しかし、ラストの夜食シーンでは～　ラスト１行↑↑↑に注目（笑）

昨日は、パパに休みを取ってもらって、免許の更新に行ってきました
５年に１度の写真撮影・・・表情つくる間もなく、あっという間に終了し・・・
ちょっぴり不安だったのだけど・・・・・セーフでした

今日は、大阪のお友達：ゆきちゃんママに会いました
Tさんは幼稚園時代のママ友なんですが、大阪に引っ越して以来、１２年ぶりの再会でした　
４時間ほど一緒にいたんですが・・・積もる話が多過ぎて、とても話し尽くせなくて・・・
ギリギリまで、喋りっぱなしでした
変わってなかったな～Tさん！・・・また会いたいなぁ。
そういう友達がいるのがうれしいなって、あらためて思った一日でした

今日は、夏至！・・・だそうですが・・・

が・・・今日は、実は・・・
お友達の誕生日でもあります　Hさん！HAPPY BIRTHDAY～
そして、ついでに言えば・・・私の誕生日でもあります。エヘ
自分のブログとはいえ、自分から「誕生日で～す」と全世界に発信!?するのは
少々気恥ずかしい気がするものですね。。。

今年は年女な私　まあ普通なら、なかなかいい歳のハズですが・・・
ある年齢から折り返しているので、今年は３２歳です
って、年齢バレバレな気もしますが（笑）　
ああ、今年もまた一つ若返ってしまった　
こんな私を家族は、「どこまでも前向きで、シアワセだね」と褒めて!?くれます
よし！３２歳もガンバルぞ！p(^^)q

さて、今日は朝からいい天気
夏至ということもあって、最も日差しに恵まれる一日になることは、
まず間違い無さそうです

ネコバナナ TWENTY-THREE 『元素図鑑』

Qwilleran thought about Violet on Thursday morning as he fed the cats and
himself (in that order) . He thought about her ingratiating personality and intelligence
and love of poetry and drama. He thought about her shattered romance in early years and
her strange marriage in later life. He hesitated to call it a romance. Yet who could tell ?
And what would happen now ? Whatever・・・he felt driven to complete the book.
He could imagine the pleasure it would have given her; the photographs of cozy corners,
family treasuers, and architectural wonders. The text, he was sure, would have delighted her.
That was what he had to concentrate on now, relating historic incidents with affection
and humor rather than journalistic objectivety. In other words, he planned to write
what she would have liked to read. He would dedicate the book simply “ To Violet. ”
And there would be a handsome photograph of her, selected from the Hibbard archives
with the aid of Maggie.

『元素図鑑』・・・はですね～、父の日のプレゼント
もちろん、息子からパパへ
これが、結構りっぱな本なんですよ～。元素記号好き（？）のパパが
涙浮かべて喜んだことは言うまでもありません
私は、去年、りっぱな大きなカーネーションの鉢植えをもらったので
今年の母の日には、「学生のうちはもう無理しないでいいよ！」と遠慮し
今年は「父の日に何にしよう～？」という息子の相談の聞き役に
パパの趣味を結構理解している息子が選んだのが、この図鑑でした
大学に通いながら、バイトしながら、やりくりしている息子からの
プレゼントは、また特別なものです　　宝物です

ネコバナナ ＴＷＥＮＴＹ-ＴＷＯ 「ようやく八神純子」

On Wednesday morning Qwilleran fed the cats and recited a few lines of Rudyard
kipling as their thought for the day. He himself had a bowl of cereal with a sliced banana,
followed by the obligatory cup of coffee.
Thus fortified, he called the city room at the paper and asked to speak to Whiskers.
“He doesn't work here anymore, ”said the desk man.
“Since when? ”was the shocked response.
“Since yesterday. ”
“What happened? ”
“I don't know. Talk to the boss.”
Qwilleran sat down with a second cup of coffee and reflected : Was he fired?
Did he quit? In either case, what was the reason? Was he in trouble? Had he blurted
out too many secrets and suspicions while under the influence of Squunk water and
a sympathetic listener?
Qwilleran phoned the manabing editor. “Junior! What happened to Whiskers? ”

うちのほうは、なかなか本格的な梅雨を感じさせるような雨が降らなくて
一日中雨の日に、じっくりのんびり聴こうと思っていた『八神純子』が
なかなか聴けずにいた。前に予告したのは、いつのことだったか？って感じ。。。
昨日の午後から降り出した雨に、ようやく。
やっぱり、「みずいろの雨」などは特に、窓の外の降りしきる雨を感じながら聴くのが
正しい聴き方（作法！？）だと思うんだよね～

最近、昔の曲が妙に聴きたくなるっていうのは・・・歳のせい
オフコースなんかも、懐かしいんだけど新鮮で、いいな～って思ってしまう。。。
スピッツも、リアルタイムでは、それほど聴かなかったのに
最近、車の中でよく聴いていたりする

エンドレスリピートで、お掃除しまくりでした。ダイエットも こわいくらい順調

ネコバナナ ＴＷＥＮＴＹ-ＯＮＥ 免許証の更新に向けて

Qwilleran filed his Tuesday copy for the “Qwill Pen”by motorcycle messnger＿
to avoid running into kenneth. There had been something embarrassing about his outburst
the previous evening＿his outpouring of family secrets and untinkable suspicions.
It was nothing that could be blamed on “too much to drink ”because Qwilleran had
served nothing stronger than Squunk water. Kenneth's facts or fancies had been building
up over a period of time. They had been suppressed one could imagine , until that
moment when encouraged by stmpathetic listening. It would be prudent to let the matter
cool for a while.
He also gave the motorcycle messenger the duck hunting book to return to
Wix & Wix Realty. The Tuesday “Qwill Pen ” was all about ducks without a single word
about duck hunting. No matter. The Something had an outdoor writer whose job was
to address the subject of funting.
All these thoughts were formulated and decisions made while Qwilleran ate
his cereal and sliced bananas. They were interrupted by a phone call from the attorney.

午前中は、美容院に行ってきました
来週、免許証の更新に行くので、その前に、キレイにしておかないとね
運転は、しないのでゴールドカードですって自慢になりませんけどね

ネコバナナ ＴＷＥＮＴＹ 近況

Facing east, the glass walls of the Willows provided not only a view of the riverbank
but a warm morning sun that Koko and Yum Yum found ideal for washing up after berakfast.
Owilleran was basking in its warmth himself, with his second cup of coffee, when
the attorney arrived.
“Nice place. great view, ”he said as he dropped his briefcase on the coffee table.
Qwill said, “It may not give you the shot in the arm you get from the apple barn,
Bart, but it should give you an environmental lift.”the Barter family lived in the country,
too, but among rolling hills and sheep farms. “Coffee? ”
“By all means. And I picked up a couple of Danish at Tipsy's on the way here. ”
They sat at a small table in the window and Qwilleran asked, “Did you come via
West Kennebeck? If so, you passed the Hibbard property.”
“Yes, but it's heavily wooded. All you can see is the red roof and the tower.
How's the book faring? ”

ダイエット＆ときめきお片づけは、順調です
昨日、久しぶりに『陸部ランチ会』のお誘いメールが届きました
予定がいくつか入っているので、都合がつくといいのですが・・・。

そういえば、その後、八神純子を聴きたいほどのまとまった雨は降ってないような
気がするのですが？？？　ホントに梅雨入りしたの？って感じです
まあ、特に雨が好きなわけじゃないので・・・べつにいいんですけどね

ネコバナナ ＮＩＮＥＴＥＥＮ また採血？（＞＜）

On Sunday afternoon Qwilleran and two nervous Siamese would leave for their
winter address. The more the departure was delayed, he had learned, the more nervous
they became, as if they feared they would be left behind !
Moving fifteen miles away to Indian Village was no easier than moving fifteen thousand.
Friends, neighbors, and business connections had to be notified.
Chief Brodie always volunteered to keep an eye on the property. Mrs. Fulgrove
would come in and empty the refrigerator, taking home any food she might be able to
use; a few frozen desserts were purchased and addedto the freezer to make it worth
her while. And Pat O'Dell's crew would secure the premises against the winter weather.
Before leaving town, Qwilleran wanted to take one last walk through the woods
and around Winston Park.

健康診断の結果が届いた。概ね良好
しかし・・・血液検査は、また引っ掛かってしまった
ああ、また採血か。。。
数値的には去年より改善しているように思えるけどなぁ。。。。

ネコバナナ ＥＩＧＨＴＥＥＮ キャベツ効果か？(^O^)v

There were no crowds on Saturday morning. No cheers. No band music.
No TV cameras. There was only Roger MacGillivray, weeked photographer-reporter
for the Something, to cover the event. The K Theatre was being renamed Teater Arts.
Large block letters had been cut from aluminum and then mounted
directly on the fieldstone buiding with a little space between.
The style had originated with the Mackintosh Inn, suggested by K Fund
designers. It was now becoming popular in the City of stone. In this case,
an element of mystery was created by doing the work under the cover of darkness
and covering it with canvas until the official unveiling. Only Larry Lanspeak and
Alden Wade were present to pose for pictures and give Roger a press release.

なんと！着実に体重が減っている。キャベツ効果か
特別に頑張ってる感がなく、無理なく痩せるなんて・・・
いったい何年ぶりだろう←ちなみにこれは感動の涙

そうそう、昨日も下見ランチにでかけて、お蕎麦のコース料理をいただいたりした
“おそば”のさっぱりしたイメージからは想像つかないくらい、品数多く、オードブル
スープ、お肉料理、そして蕎麦と次々とお皿が入れ替わり、締めはデザート＆ドリンク
ゆっくり食べたので、丁度美味しくいただけたけど・・・結構なカロリーだったと思う
なので、今日の計測は・・・ちょっぴり心配だった。
ところが、なんと！－200g夢のようだ
下見ランチは・・・クラス会の会場の下見。未だに、少し気がのらないけど・・・
お仕事と思って頑張るぞ

ネコバナナ ＳＥＶＥＮＴＥＥＮ 梅雨の中休みらしい

On Friday mornimg Qwilleran ate his cereal and sliced bananas without complaint,
and he opened a festive can of cocktail shrimp for the cats. He and Polly were together again.
They would be dining at the Grist Mill, listening to great music, having long discussions
about words, phoning each other at eleven P.M.
At the barn, following the lit club meeting, there had not been a single word about
the Book Log Computer System ! And Qwilleran had given her the blue cashmere robe
that celebrated her matriculation form public library to bookstore.
Now he wanted to close the barn for the winter and move to Indian Villafe.
Unit Number Four at the Willows would be readied by Pat O'Dell's janitorial servic and
“fluffed up”by the “be-whiching” Mrs. Fulgrove.

梅雨の中休み！？・・・ですってそっか～。。。
先週後半に見た週間天気予報をそのまま信じていて（笑）今日は雨降りだから、
読書気分だな～なんて予定してたのに・・・ちょっと予定が狂ってしまった
まあ、でも、晴れてる方が、きもちいいし、まいっか～
そうそう！今日は一日雨の予定で、久々に八神純子でも聴こうと思ってたのだ。
雨って言ったら・・・『みずいろの雨』でしょう　　また、今度詳しく書きます！
