ルカの福音書の第１１章の１節を、
これが聖書の言葉だということを意識しないで訳してみた。
Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are good, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are bad, your body also is full of darkness.
See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness.
Therefore, if your whole body is ful of light, and no part of it dark, it will be completely lighted, as when the light of a lamp shines on you.
きみの目はきみの体の明かりなのだ。きみの目が輝いているとき、きみの体は光で満ちているだろう。でもきみの目が輝いていないとき、きみの体は闇でみちているだろう。
ほらごらん、きみの中の光は闇なんかじゃない。
だから、きみの体が光で満ちて闇の部分がないとき、きみの全身は光り輝やくことになるだろう。まるでランプの明かりがきみを照らしていときのように。
