Dennis F5VHY (G3MXJ) and Nigel G3TXF plan to operate as YJ0MXJ and YJ0TXF from the Aore Island Resort off Espiritu Santo [OC-035] in Vanuatu for six days from Fri 27 March to Wed 01 April 2009. This will be a CW only operation.

Given the current paucity of sunspots the main bands are expected to be 40m, 30m, 20m and 17m. We’ll try 80m if local conditions permit.

There will be no 160m. QSLs : YJ0MXJ via F5VHY, YJ0TXF via G3TXF

Short operations are also planned from New Caledonia (FK) on the way out to Vanuatu, and from Norfolk Island (VK9N) on the way back.

VK9M coming soon

2009-03-17 06:32:32 | Weblog
VK9M, MELLISH REEF (Update). Operators George/AA7JV and Tomi/HA7RY are expected to be active as VK9GMW next week (possibly between March 22nd and April 6th) in what they call "another low-key, simple DXpedition".
PLEASE NOTE that the dates are approximate and may change due to weather.

The operation will have a strong low-band focus, although VK9WMW will operate on all HF bands. From their Web page, George reports from Airlie Beach, Queensland, Australia, (Sunday, March 15th): "Preparations are under way for the boat trip to Mellish. We are currently provisioning and loading fuel. Lots of fuel. We intend to depart from Airlie Beach Tuesday morning. The weather forecast is fair (15 to 20 kts)."

QSL will be via HA7RY, by the Bureau or LoTW or direct to: Tamas Pekarik, Alagi ut 15, H-2151 Fot, HUNGARY.

After VK9GMW has gone QRT, they will launch an "Online QSL Request Service" (OQRS) on their Web site.
If you want to receive your QSL via the Bureau, please use that form to request the card.
They will check your QSOs against the log and send your card to you via the Bureau.
This method will allow them faster processing, helps them protect the environment, and you will receive your VK9GMW card faster.

For more information, please visit the VK9GMW Web page at: http://www.vk9gmw.com
For donations, please access: http://vk9gmw.com/support.html
