弥勒菩薩ラエルのコメント：すべての「戦争」を終結させ、しかも「戦争」と
いう語の使用をやめ始める時がやって来ました。これは根本的に良くない言葉
であり、私たちの語彙や政治家たちのスピーチ、メディアから完全に取り除く
べきものです。本質的に暴力を助長するものであり、根本的に非暴力とは反対
なものです。愛、理解、思いやり、という語と置き換えられるべきです。いた
る所で用いられていますが、より良い価値を支持するポジティブな言葉の「推
進」(promotion)と容易に置き換えることが可能です。たとえば「対麻薬戦争」
というフレーズは、ポルトガルのように「危険薬物からの断絶推進」に置き換
えることができます。同国では、ドラッグ類を合法化し、それらの使用を止め
たいと望む人々に対して無料の医療サービスを奨励することにより、大きな成
功を収めています。「テロとの戦い」についても当てはまります。失敗を余儀
なくされていますし、抑圧された人々に向けた外交的な解決策を推進すること
により、置き換えられるべきです。自身の国や文化に敬意が払われているなら
ば、誰もテロリストになんかなりたいとは思いません。皆んなの頭から戦争と
いう考えそのものを取り払い、非暴力、現実的外交、ポジティブ、に関連する
言葉と置き換えることが、人類の生き残る唯一の道なのです。
RAEL'S COMMENT: It is time to stop all "wars," and that starts by
ceasing to use the word "war." This word is fundamentally bad and
should be removed completely from our vocabulary, and from
politicians' speeches and the media. It intrinsically promotes
violence and by essence is the opposite of non-violence. It should be
replaced by a word of love, understanding and compassion. Everywhere
it is used, it can easily be replaced with the positive word
"promotion," supporting better values. For example, the phrase "war on
drugs" can be replaced with "promotion of abstinence from dangerous
substances," as in Portugal, which has had big success by
decriminalizing drugs and promoting free health services for people
willing to stop using them. The same is true for the"war on terrorism,"
which is condemned to fail and should be replaced by promoting
diplomatic solutions for oppressed people. Nobody wants to become a
terrorist if his country or civilization is respected. Humanity can
survive only if it removes the very idea of war from everyone's brain
and replaces it with non violence, real diplomacy, and positive words.
