CAPTAINS COMMENTS
We've done it! East Fife FC 3rd division Champions!
I'm not going to dwell on the Albion Rovers game. It was a major disappointment for both the playes & fans alike.
The East Stirling game though was the perfect way to win a league.
We started off magnificently against what may have been a potential banana skin especially with Shire having a new manager.
Paul McManus was incrfible from start to finish and my one regret from the whole day was that he didn't get the match ball he so deserved.
We played in a very controlled manner and never felt in any danger of losing.
I don't normally talk about individuals, but it seems fitting that I give Greig McDonald a mention for scoring the last goal in the championship winning game, We tried to tell the ref it was an own goal just to wind him up but Greig truly deserves to be part of this winning team considering that he and the likes of Kev Gordon played for free under a few people stood up for the champions!
finally a genuine thank you to all of you who turned Firs Park into a sea of Black & Gold! Yoursupport through the whole season has been magnificent.
Today we face a Montrose side still pushing to secure a play off spot but there will be no easing off from us in what will be a difficult game.
