昨日、米の金融機関が抱えている不良債権の一時的一部買取（ややこしい）を米政府がやる法案を、米議会下院が否決した。
この裏には、米下院が抱えている色んな事情があるらしいが・・・。
それを知ってか知らずか、自民党の笹川 尭総務会長が法案の否決理由についてアジな発言をしていた。

実は、例の法案ってのは、有権者の間から批判が出てる厄介な代物。
有権者達にしてみれば、自分達が払った税金が適当な経営をやってきた金融機関につぎ込まれるのに納得行かないだろうし。

"No supervision. No discipline. And if you fail, you will have a golden parachute and the taxpayer will bail you out."
Democrats later said that if her speech truly cost votes, then Republicans, in the words of Representative Barney Frank, Democrat of Massachusetts, were guilty of punishing the country because Pelosi had hurt their feelings.

ま、元をただすと米政府のいい加減な金融政策がこうした騒動の原因なんだけどさ。
公的資金を突っ込んでも金融危機が終わらない可能性が高いと踏んだら、あえて法案を否決するのも策なんだろうな。

笹川氏の「女だから云々」という発言のは、正直褒められないと思ふ。
逆に「男だから云々」と他の人達に言われても、笹川氏は何にも文句言えないぞ～。
