JOHN SMEDLEYの場合、各パーツごとに編み立てられまして、最後に熟練の職人さんの手仕事でハンドリンキング
されていく訳なんです。
何と手仕事の工程だけで35工程もあるそうです。
ですからシルクみたいな光沢とカシミアみたいな肌触りを体感して頂けるのです。

このお袖口や裾のリブなども全て手仕事で縫製されており、通常のニットの場合カフスは袖の内側に縫い代を取り
縫製するのですが、腕を通した際に違和感を感じるので、JOHN SMEDLEYの場合は外側で手縫いで縫製しております。
ですから、腕を通した際に全く違和感も感じない訳なんです。
The cuffs and ribs on the hem are all sewn by hand, and in the case of regular knits, the cuffs are made with a seam allowance on the inside of the sleeve.
Although it is sewn, it feels uncomfortable when it is passed through the arm, so in the case of JOHN SMEDLEY, it is sewn by hand on the outside.
That's why I don't feel any discomfort when I put my arm through it.
身頃とお袖の縫製も、勿論、手縫いとなります。
そして完成しますと、水洗いを施しまして再度プレスを掛けまして、

最後にボタン付けやレーベルを付けると云うかなり手間暇を掛けましたモノつくりになります。
ボタンも勿論貝ボタンになります。
しかし、これだけの手間暇を掛けるから、本当に良いものが作れるのだなと思います。
