スマホで自撮りし、パソコンに女たちのリストを打ち込むことで、軽佻浮薄なネット社会における男女の交情を皮肉り、サイバー上の「友達」と「いいね」の数を誇るネット民のようなドン・ジョヴァンニとレポレッロ。現代にも彼らはたくさん存在しており、きわめて21世紀的な「ドン・ジョヴァンニ」としての変容にパーヴォとN響は成功しています!
モーツァルトの古典を、現代の傑作に昇華するために、パーヴォ&N響は演奏会形式でありながら、きわめて劇的な空間を現出しました。パーヴォの「指揮者」は、「運命の神」でもあり、ドン・ジョヴァンニ、ドンナ・アンナ、エルヴィーラ、ツェルリーナ、石像たちの運命を紡ぎだす存在でもあり、斬新な設定です。
というわけで、いろいろ「ドン・ジョヴァンニ」に関する考察を深めました。初めてみた時には、ちょっと個人的な感慨も含めてショックだったのですが、すぐに現代の男女の在り方をめぐるひとつの諷刺と喜劇だと気付いてからは、とても楽しく2回目の横浜公演では見ることができました。パーヴォ&N響、ソリストのみなさんに感謝です!
ソリストたちついても言及を。今回タイトルロールのヴィート・プリアンテがやや腺病質ながらも愛の狩人としてさまよう姿を好演。レポレッロのカイル・ケテルセンも野性味あふれて魅力的。ドンナ・アンナのジョージア・ジャーマンは衣裳をブルーに着替えて熱演!
ドン・オッターヴィオのベルナール・リヒターはスター誕生ともいうべき華やかなテノールぶり。ドンナ・エルヴィーラのローレン・フェイガンは硬質な魅力をたたえつつ、キャリア志向のつよい女性像を描出。マゼットの久保和範は「日本男子」の心意気をみせて心強い。
ツェルリーナの三宅理恵が今回の収穫というべき愛らしさ、したたかさをみせ、女性が男性に思う、愛憎の複雑な一面を見せて秀逸。小柄な彼女に抱く、男性たちの「幻想」は、異国・東洋の女性像を打ち砕く斬新な解釈で面白い。フェミニズムの似非ぶりをあざ笑うかのよう!
そして、騎士長を演じた、バスのアレクサンドル・ツィムバリュクは非常に恵まれた体躯を生かし、堂々とこの難役を演じ切った。これからもオファーが殺到するだろう!
これらの魅力的な配役と指揮、演奏を紡ぎだした、佐藤美晴の演出は、大いにたたえられてよいだろうと思います!
