熱帯医学の合同カンファレンスを行うこととなりました。
日時は2008年7月12日土曜日。
長崎大学熱帯医学研究所の有吉教授とロンドン大学熱帯病院
University College London Hospital, Hospital for Tropical Disease の
Dr.Tom Doherty の特別公演に加え、症例報告を元にしたDiscussionを予定しております。

諏訪先生の本

　6月に発行されたばっかりの“医科学者のための知的活動の技法”という本があります。著者は、麻酔科の先生ならまずご存知、それ以外の多くの先生もご存知な諏訪邦夫先生です。これは、もともと麻酔の雑誌LiSAで連載されていたものをまとめられたものです。我々の仕事を受信と発信に分けて、受信として論文や教科書を読む、発信として文章を書いたり発表したりする、そのような仕事をいかに効率化するかのすばらしいヒントが詰まっています。
　例えば、学会発表に関するものでは、“文字だけのスライドを減らす”とか、“質問にはすぐに立つ”とか、“前置きは最小限に”など。文章では、“パターン化して機械的にできるところを増やして効率をあげる”、“方法、結果、考察のそれぞれを別ファイルで作り細分化したものを最後にまとめるとコンピューター画面上で見やすい”など。自分自身、何となくそうではないかとイメージしていたことを、誰にでもわかるように文章化されてしまう、諏訪先生はやはり偉大です。
　文体は、いつもの諏訪節とも言える軽快なものです。お話でも文章でもメールでも一目見て諏訪先生とわかる、例の“諏訪節”です。
