【マスカット＝久保庭総一郎】オマーン訪問中の安倍首相は９日夜（日本時間９日深夜）、カブース国王と約３５分間会談し、石油や天然ガスの安定供給に向けて、ホルムズ海峡周辺の海上交通路（シーレーン）の安全確保など、海上安全保障での協力を強化していくことで一致した。

首相は会談で、自身が提唱する「積極的平和主義」を説明し、「中東地域を含む国際社会の平和と安定により積極的な貢献を行う」と表明した。国王は「日本の外交政策を高く評価し、歓迎する」と応じた。
両首脳は、経済・エネルギー、安全保障分野などでの協力強化で合意した。外交当局による政策対話の創設や海賊対策などの海上安全保障分野での連携も確認した。民間投資を促進するため、投資協定の締結で実質合意し、二重課税を回避する租税協定を締結した。
