「Gunmen have attacked a group of aid workers in Niger, killing six French citizens, their local guide and driver, officials say.
The gunmen arrived on motorcycles and opened fire, the governor of Tillaberi region, Tidjani Ibrahim, told the French news agency AFP.」
「They were in the Koure region, which attracts tourists who want to see the last herds of giraffe in West Africa.」
「In photos seen by the BBC, the victims' bodies were found lying on a dirt road by the side of a 4x4 vehicle.」
どうも最近、西アフリカ～北アフリカあたりが不穏。
ある意味では「フランスの対応範囲」「フランスの責任範囲」ではあるが、まあ…「金山を持たないフランスの金準備が物凄い一方、金山のある某国では」なんて話を聞くと…どうも、という感もある。何をどうすればよかったか、というのはいろいろ思いつくところがあろうけれど、しかしその理想的想定は現実ではないわけで。いまこの現実をスタートに、何をどうすべきか、できるか、差し当たりの対応は―と問わざるを得んのだろうなあ。
アンゴラが、ブラジルの某evangelical churchesの活動を停止せしめると。
BBC Angola orders Brazil evangelical churches to close 15 Aug 2020
「Prosecutors in Angola have ordered the closure of places of worship belonging to one of Brazil's biggest churches, accusing it of corruption.
At least seven buildings belonging to the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God (UCKG) have been seized in the capital, Luanda.
Prosecutors said the evangelical church had been involved in tax fraud and other fiscal crimes.
UCKG officials have previously strongly denied any wrongdoing.」
税金のごまかしほか、諸種の金融犯罪に関わったためとする（もちろん教会側は否定する）。
イタリアで、若奥さんが一人謎の死を遂げ、その息子も死体で発見されたという。

「The remains of a child have been found 16 days after a four-year-old boy disappeared with his mother near a coastal motorway in Sicily.
Amid a mystery that has shocked Italians, investigators said they were 99% sure that Gioele Mondello's body had been found.
The body of his mother, DJ Viviana Parisi, was found earlier near an electric pylon after a minor accident.」
「It was five days before Parisi's decomposed body was found below a high-voltage pylon in scrubland near the town of Caronia. She had suffered a broken arm, possibly from a fall from the pylon, and animal bites.」
「Eventually, the child's remains were also found. Reports suggested his body had been dismembered by wild animals. A DNA test is being carried out to confirm his identity.」
不審者ないし野生動物に襲われて個々に逃げざるを得なくなり、母親のほうは送電鉄塔によじ登ったが転落、獣に食いちぎられた（息子のほうは別途仕留められた）というのが楽な物語だが、じゃあそれほどの野生動物ってなにさ？とか、即座に難が出てくるなあ。
…なんか『世界の未解決事件』なんてシリーズに載りそうな勢いである。
ベルギーの警察拘留所で死亡したスロバキア人の死に方に疑義がある、というので再調査を求めるという記事。日本語版も出てたな、たしか。

「The wife of a Slovak man who died in Belgian police custody has called for a fresh inquiry after shocking new images of his detention have emerged.」
死亡者の奥さんが再調査を求めるのだが、なんか拘留所の壁に頭を打ち付ける奇行に出たのは―まあ薬物かアルコールの性だと納得するとして―なんでだか押さえつけにきた警官の一人がナチ式敬礼をキメてたとか。
「The images from the cell show several officers laughing during the incident, while another made a Nazi salute. Another was filmed sitting on Chovanec's rib cage for 18 minutes.」
押さえつけ・拘束自体はまあいいとして、なんで笑いながらやってんだ、とか。うん、仕事は真面目にやれよ、とは思うわね。
「While being detained, he began banging his head on the wall of his cell to the point of bleeding. A group of officers are later seen pinning him down.
Chovanec was taken to hospital, but fell into a coma and died the next day.」
「His family said they do not know the reason for his erratic behaviour during police custody, and an autopsy revealed he had not been under the influence of drugs or alcohol.」
「Before his death, Chovanec owned a company that recruited Slovakian construction workers for projects in Belgium, and he frequently commuted between the two countries for his business.」
スロバキア労働者をベルギーにあっせんする会社の社長さんだったそうで。ということで、わざわざ警察の拘置所で麻薬でラリるほどのあほの子という可能性もかなり低く、奇行の原因自体（ドラッグかアルコールのせいだろ？という）は疑わないことにしても、なんでまたそんなことになったんだということは疑問としてのこる。
いやだって私だって、「外国にくるにしてはみすぼらしい日本人」に見えるだろうことは自信があるが、拘置所内で麻薬トリップするとは思えない。そもそもそんな趣味はないし。
なんでこうなったの？というのは問うて良いだろうな、と思うのだが、どうか。
