彼女と知り合った真冬の寒いNY。
あの頃とてもつらいことがあって、身も心も傷心していた私を、明るい彼女が毎日励ましてくれた。

NYはとても刺激的な所だけど、よっぽど強い志がないと、私みたいなへなちょこはすぐにやられてしまう。
気持ちが乗っている時は最高に楽しい場所。
でも落ちると厳しい、、、。
足元から暗闇に引きずり込まれていくような孤独感と恐怖は、NYで初めて味わったなあ。

ともかく、そんな時に救世主のように現れて支えてくれた彼女に、今でもとても感謝している。
ありがとね

I met Chika in NY in mid-winter.
I was having a very rough time and was heartbroken.
She tried to cheer me up.

NY is a very exciting city, but you have to be tough to live there or you might feel like you are a loser.
You're happy when everything is going well, but when you're feeling down, it seems like there's no help from anyone.
I had never experienced deep solitude and fear before.
It was like I was being pulled into a bottomless swamp.

Anyway, she was my saviour.
I still appreciate her kindness.
