Finally, I arrived Kailua by The bus.

I transferred by using called transfer ticket.
You can transfer The bus twice a day.

How to get those ticket....
When you get on the bus and pay 2. 5 ＄right there with asking the driver to give the transfer ticket.


Please bare in mind, do it just after pay the fee .
That's a no-no to ask the driver about
giving those tickets when you get off.

It bothers the driver a lot.
You'll be a nasty tourist!




Firstly, I dropped a famous grocery store called Whole foods market.





It's so big and has a wide selection of foods.


I came across a huge 'cereal bar'






And after that I headed for Kailua beach.


Words failed me!

It's the most beautiful beach that I have visited so far
The sand is like a powder snow

Aloha
I arrived Hawaii yesterday
The weather is fine.
It's hotter than I expected.

When was last time I came to this wonderful island?....it was 5 years ago or so...


Any way,
I'll enjoy staying here and recharge my batteries.




I took a trolley to go to Alamoana shopping center. On the way to there I talked with the driver with sitting just behind him.

He was cheerful and upbeat

When he saw Japanese sightseers, it makes him laugh a lot.


Because those who Japanese tourists are always running!
The trolley runs every 5minutes or so,
So they don't need to rush.

I said, that's one of Japanese custom.
We try to arrive earlier.
We Japanese are so punctual!



I'm going to stay here in Hawaii for a while.
I'll post updated information.

Today, I' ll go to Kailua beach.
It's getting popular among tourists.
It has so beautiful sea and beach.

However, I missed the bus stop
Fortunately, I found another beautiful beach near Sea life park.

スパルタの先生、
冷や汗をかきながらの体験レッスンだった。

先生曰く、
パッと見て文法上の誤りがわかるようにならないとリーディング セクションは克服できないと。

どこが間違い？理由は？



正しくは
Each student has own locker in the class room.

理由は
※each /every / another の後ろは必ず単数形がくる。従ってhave ではなくhas がくる。

in 以下についてはほぼ無視、おまけ部分。
さらっと流して次に進む。

体験レッスンも終盤、答え合わせしながら
こんな歌詞しってる？と
Every child has a beautiful name.
その先生が教えてくれた。
「私が若い頃流行った歌のフレーズよ」

すぐはピンとこなかったが、懐かしのヒット曲～みたいな歌番組で聞いたことがある。
ゴダイゴのBeautiful name のワンフレーズだ。
っていうか、先生何歳??

それはともかく、この誤りを正す訓練を積むと
スポットライトが当たるかのように正解が見えるらしい。

そのためには徹底した文法のおさらいが必要だという。

おかげ様で
強い印象が残ってこのeach/every/ anotherルールについては強い印象が残り忘ることはない。


受験された方はお分かりになると思うが、
リーディング セクション Part5,6は
ブランクを埋める問題。
選択肢から正しい答えを約20秒で見つけ出さないと最終的にタイムアップとなる。

今のリーディング セクションにはないが
かつてはこの誤りを正すパートがあった。
先生はその過去問からレッスン用プリントを作成し、生徒たちに千本ノックを繰り返しているという。

後から知ったが、
このタイトスカートの先生はかなり有名な方でTOEICの点数アップの対策本を何冊も出版されていた。
ご自身も何度も満点を取っていらっしゃる。

厳しかったが非常にためになった。
この先生のTOEIC対策クラスを取っていれば今頃私も900点超えていたかも。

ちょっと本気過ぎるレッスンを15回も受講するのは仕事より厳しそうなのでやめた（笑）

バイリンガルへの道 第10話 TOEIC 弱点克服

英検準一級、面接試験を突破する頃には、そこそこ話せるようになっていた。

一時期、難しい単語ばかり暗記していた頃は本当に話せなくなり焦ったが、面接での質疑応答を繰り返しイメージトレーニングするうちに
勝手に英語が出てくる「絶対変換」が戻っていた。

Practice makes perfect

つぎに私はTOEIC900点越えを目指し勉強を始めた。
弱点はリーディング セクション

時間が足りない。
最後まで辿りつけない(￣◇￣;)

リスニング セクションはいつも450点以上。


どうすればリーディング セクションを克服できるか。1人で問題集で勉強するのも限界がある。

で、とある語学スクールのTOEIC対策クラスの体験レッスンを受けてみることにした。

ラッキーなのか、
先生とone on one 日本語で言うマンツーマン‥この表現、すごく嫌い‥
ま、ともかく先生と一対一のレッスンが始まった。


私よりは年上、おそらく５０代の女性。
スタイルもよくタイトスカートがカッコいい。

「じゃこれ見て」と、
いきなり英文がギッシリ書かれたA4の紙を渡される。

1行の英文ばかり。

「各文を読んで文法的間違いを指摘し理由と正しい文に訂正しなさい、間違いがない場合もあるから気をつけて」

こ、こわい(>_<)

つかみや自己紹介もないまま
「10分後に始めるから。」

えー
うそ～

どれもあってるように見える。
時間がどんどん過ぎる！

Road of the bilingual; What I learned from my bitter experience...

Finally,I have a plenty of time.

So I'm looking back when I helped with overseas division.

Actually, just after I left the office, I was depressed.
Because no one was on my side.


To tell the truth,
Until I had a discussion with the president and my boss,
I believed that he (now it's my ex-boss ) who is very reliable. Because of his English skill.
It was so impressive.

If I were work his subordinate, my English skill could have been brushed up more and more.

He taught me a lot.

Speaking of English skill in business, it's completely different from a daily conversation.

When I tried to send an email in English ,
He gave me one thing.

Simple and clear that's it.

You don't need to write a long sentence.
It could make the story complicated.

What you want to say,
You should write it first.


I quitted the job and it left a bad taste in my mouth.
However, I learned a lot from him and my bitter experience.
