米国はCA州に在住のＷＡＮＧ若社長からVINナンバーの連絡がありました。当方から車両のフル型式を問い合わせてもちんぷんかんぷんの様子。私も海外向けの商売を長くやっていましたが、このVINナンバーは初めて向かい合うものでした。貰えた情報は17桁のVINナンバーJA4NW51S73J047472とモデルイヤー2003年。これで20年物の親父さんの形見の車を長く愛用するために必要な部品を提案して欲しいと言われてもですね。まあ時差が8時間強ありましたので調べました。三菱車と聞いていたので、ネットで『Mitsubishi Vehicle Identification Number』で米国三菱自動車のＨＰにアクセス。2003年モデルイヤーのVIN解読表にヒット。調べられましたよ。それぞれの文字や数字が示す内容は以下の通りでした。その内容を教えて差し上げた今朝のメールの返信内容は※次のようなものでした。だいぶアメリカンに感化されているようです。これは教えがいがありそうです。
J: Japan 製造
A: Mitsubishi Motors
4: MPV
N: ？
W5:Montero（=Pajero）
1: 5 door
S: 3800cc V6 6G75
73: 2003年式
J: Nagoya工場製造

I have the service manual here on my computer. But no parts list. But I think on the service manual it designates all the parts/parts number for me to order from somewhere...
