Have you heard of Cambodia , a country in Southeast Asia?
This country suffered from a long war and harsh dictatorship.
The dictatorship fell 37 years ago and the country developed anew.
However , the scars from those hard years have been so terrible
that , even today ,the country faces many problems.
Travel writer Yuji Shimokawa visited an elderly couple who moved
from Japan to Cambodia.
Even this couple has become caught up in the problems.
　2003年の夏にカンボジアのアンコールワット（セムリアップにある）に行きました。
バンコクから飛行機で１時間です。
　２泊３日滞在しました。アンコールワットは寺院です。
広大な地域に散在しています。全部見るのに２泊３日かかりました。
　首都のプノンペンに行く時間はありませんでした。
