比喩品第三（その７）
舎利弗（弟子の名）よ、
Śāriputra
かの仏が出現したとき
When that Buddha appeared
たとえ悪世ではなくても
Even though it is not an evil world
本願によるため
Because of the original vow
三乗の法を説く
Preaching the Three Vehicles
その劫の名は「大寶莊嚴」
That kalpa is named "Great Jewel Adornment"
なぜこの名を～と呼ぶのか
Why is it called
「大寶莊嚴」
"Great Jewel Adornment"
その国の中での
Within that country
菩薩によって
Through the Bodhisattvas
大きな宝となすからである
Because of the great treasures
かの諸々の菩薩たち
Those many Bodhisattvas
計り知れないほど限りなく
Immeasurable and boundless
計り知れない
Inconceivable
算数やたとえで表せない
Beyond calculation and analogy
到達することができない
Beyond reach
仏の知恵と力でなければ
Unless it is the Buddha's wisdom and power
知ることができる者はいない
No one can know
もし行きたいとき
If they wish to move
宝の花が足を支える
Jeweled flowers support their feet
この諸々の菩薩たち
These many Bodhisattvas
初めての発心ではない
Not their first aspiration
皆長い間功徳を養ってきた
They have long cultivated merit
計り知れない百千萬億の仏のもとで
Under countless hundreds, thousands, millions, and billions of Buddhas
清らかな梵行を修める
Practicing pure Brahma conduct
常に諸仏に～得る
Always by many Buddhas
称賛されること
for praised
常に仏の智慧を修める
Constantly cultivating the Buddha’s wisdom
大いなる神通を備える
Endowed with great supernatural powers
すべてをよく知る
Knows all things well
諸法の門
The gates of various teachings
素直で偽りがない
Honest and without falsehood
志が固く揺るがない
Firm and unwavering resolve
このような菩薩たち
Such Bodhisattvas
その国に満ちている
Filling that country
舎利弗（弟子の名）よ、

華光仏の寿命
The lifespan of the Buddha Lotus Light（Kekou）
十二小劫（長い時間）の間
Twelve small kalpas
王子であった～を除いて
Except for being a prince
まだ仏になっていない時（を除く）

The people of that country
八小劫（長い時間）の寿命
Lifespan of eight small kalpas
華光如来は
The Lotus Light（Kekou）Tathāgata
十二小劫を経た後
After passed through twelve small kalpas
堅滿菩薩に授ける
Granting to Bodhisattva Keng Man
阿耨多羅三藐三菩提の授記
Bestowing the prophecy of Anuttara-samyak-sambodhi
諸々の比丘に告げる
Addressing the many Bhikshus
この堅滿菩薩、
This is Bodhisattva Keng Man
次に仏となるべき
Will next become a Buddha
名付けて華足安行と号する
Named "Lotus Feet Peaceful Walker"
多陀阿伽度（仏の称号の続き）
Tathāgata (one of Buddha’s titles)
阿羅訶三藐三佛陀（仏の称号の続き）
Arhat Samyak Sambuddha (a title of the Buddha)
その仏の国土
The land of that Buddha
また同じようになるであろう

滅度（涅槃）の後
After Nirvana
正法（新鮮で明確な仏法）が世（時代、世の中）に存続する

像法（古びた形だけある仏法）が世（時代、世の中）に存続する
The semblance Dharma remains in the world

なかなか手に入りにくい素朴に残された漢字だけで綴られた法華経の真読翻訳ですが、案外確かな方法での整理がついてない現状を知るにつれ、これは兎にも角にも自分で調べて作ってみる手段が何より自分のものとして本当の仕事の価値を得れるに違いないと思いました。その方法はどうあれ、案ずるよりもた易く疲労感なしに執筆完成したのがこの宝の本書でした。その秘訣に、実践すべきは仕事の道であり、その中央に法華経を置いて訓読を理論とし、その後に法華経の真読を仕上げることで自分の仕事の道がすでに理論付けられてきます。法華経の真読をあなた自身のバックエンドの実践とし、法華経の訓読をフロントエンドの理論として獲得されることを期待します。
「方便品第二」について 方便というものは仏教用語であり、仏教とはそもそも真実の知恵へと教え導いてくれるものですが、その真実の目的地へ挫けずに至らせるために方便という教えが別にあるのです。それが真実の仏教の道のりではない寄り道をしながら導く方便説法です。夢のようなおかしな話だけれど、導かれる人が興味を持って理解しやすいような例え話や比喩の物語を用いながら導く教えが別にあるというわけです。このような方便な教えは仏教の真実よりも普段日常に過ごしている一般的な話題や情報のようなものの中から本当に真実のゴールへ通じているかどうかを見通す力を養い授けてくれることになるでしょう。多くの情報に埋もれる中ですべてを丸のみに信じることは不可能であり、どうも変だな、それは本当なんだろうかと自分で判断しながら捨てるべきものは捨てるようにして、淘汰して残った真実が普段の生きるべき道になって見えてくることは何よりも楽しいことです。
