nano買った所でも書かせてもらいましたがジャミロクワイは自分の好きなアーティストです。
アシッドジャズで成功したバンドです。。
アシッドジャズというとジャズな感じがしますが実際にはスティービーワンダーなどのソウル、ジャズファンクの流れのものを指します。火付け役になったレーベル名から来ているため分かりづらいですね。
このCDはファーストアルバムの「Emergency On Planet Earth」です。
すみません、邦題が「ジャミロクワイ」になっていたの今知りました。
自分が持っていたのは洋版だったので、、
けどジャケットイメージは一緒でEmergency On Planet Earthが書いてるようです。
真ん中にいるキャラはバッファローマンと呼ばれていますが日本だけメディシンマンといわれています。
まぁ、まぁ格好といい名前といい某ズラな感じの悪魔超人を連想させるため変えたらしいのですが。
ホントのところはJKがインディアン好きでバッファローの帽子を被った姿といわれてます。
ジャミロクワイの名前の由来もジャムセッションのジャム＋インディアンのイロクワイ族から来た造語です。
そのため、初期のジャミロクワイは先住民等の社会問題、環境問題を取り上げた曲が多いです。
クラブミュージックって愛や恋を取り上げた曲が殆どの中でやはり「異色」な存在だったのは確かでしょう。
