聖書を読み進めるためのコーナーです。日英対訳の形にしたいと思います。日本語は新共同訳、英語箇所はNew American Bible（米国のカトリック聖書。教皇庁のサイトにも全文掲載）を使っています。問題点が指摘されている最近の改訂版ではありません。Douay Rheims Bibleを使うことも考えましたが、諸般の事情により、こちらの方がよさそうだと私は思いました。英語の勉強用にでもお使いください。
Chapter 19
1
After this I heard what sounded like the loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying: "Alleluia! 1 Salvation, glory, and might belong to our God,
1:ヨハネの黙示録/ 19章 01節
その後、わたしは、大群衆の大声のようなものが、天でこう言うのを聞いた。「ハレルヤ。救いと栄光と力とは、わたしたちの神のもの。

for true and just are his judgments. He has condemned the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her harlotry. He has avenged on her the blood of his servants."
2:ヨハネの黙示録/ 19章 02節
その裁きは真実で正しいからである。みだらな行いで／地上を堕落させたあの大淫婦を裁き、／御自分の僕たちの流した血の復讐を、／彼女になさったからである。」

They said a second time: "Alleluia! Smoke will rise from her forever and ever."

また、こうも言った。「ハレルヤ。大淫婦が焼かれる煙は、世々限りなく立ち上る。」

The twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sat on the throne, saying, "Amen. Alleluia."

そこで、二十四人の長老と四つの生き物とはひれ伏して、玉座に座っておられる神を礼拝して言った。「アーメン、ハレルヤ。」

A voice coming from the throne said: "Praise our God, all you his servants, (and) you who revere him, small and great."

また、玉座から声がして、こう言った。「すべて神の僕たちよ、／神を畏れる者たちよ、／小さな者も大きな者も、／わたしたちの神をたたえよ。」

Then I heard something like the sound of a great multitude or the sound of rushing water or mighty peals of thunder, as they said: "Alleluia! The Lord has established his reign, (our) God, the almighty.

わたしはまた、大群衆の声のようなもの、多くの水のとどろきや、激しい雷のようなものが、こう言うのを聞いた。「ハレルヤ、／全能者であり、／わたしたちの神である主が王となられた。

Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory. For the wedding day of the Lamb 3 has come, his bride has made herself ready.

わたしたちは喜び、大いに喜び、／神の栄光をたたえよう。小羊の婚礼の日が来て、／花嫁は用意を整えた。

She was allowed to wear a bright, clean linen garment." (The linen represents the righteous deeds of the holy ones.)

花嫁は、輝く清い麻の衣を着せられた。この麻の衣とは、／聖なる者たちの正しい行いである。」

Then the angel said to me, "Write this: Blessed are those who have been called to the wedding feast of the Lamb." And he said to me, "These words are true; they come from God."

それから天使はわたしに、「書き記せ。小羊の婚宴に招かれている者たちは幸いだ」と言い、また、「これは、神の真実の言葉である」とも言った。

I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, "Don't! I am a fellow servant of yours and of your brothers who bear witness to Jesus. Worship God. Witness to Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."

わたしは天使を拝もうとしてその足もとにひれ伏した。すると、天使はわたしにこう言った。「やめよ。わたしは、あなたやイエスの証しを守っているあなたの兄弟たちと共に、仕える者である。神を礼拝せよ。イエスの証しは預言の霊なのだ。」

7 Then I saw the heavens opened, and there was a white horse; its rider was (called) "Faithful and True." He judges and wages war in righteousness.

そして、わたしは天が開かれているのを見た。すると、見よ、白い馬が現れた。それに乗っている方は、「誠実」および「真実」と呼ばれて、正義をもって裁き、また戦われる。

His eyes were (like) a fiery flame, and on his head were many diadems. He had a name inscribed that no one knows except himself.

その目は燃え盛る炎のようで、頭には多くの王冠があった。この方には、自分のほかはだれも知らない名が記されていた。

He wore a cloak that had been dipped in 9 blood, and his name was called the Word of God.

また、血に染まった衣を身にまとっており、その名は「神の言葉」と呼ばれた。

The armies of heaven followed him, mounted on white horses and wearing clean white linen.

そして、天の軍勢が白い馬に乗り、白く清い麻の布をまとってこの方に従っていた。

Out of his mouth came a sharp sword to strike the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod, and he himself will tread out in the wine press 10 the wine of the fury and wrath of God the almighty.

この方の口からは、鋭い剣が出ている。諸国の民をそれで打ち倒すのである。また、自ら鉄の杖で彼らを治める。この方はぶどう酒の搾り桶を踏むが、これには全能者である神の激しい怒りが込められている。

He has a name written on his cloak and on his thigh, "King of kings and Lord of lords."

この方の衣と腿のあたりには、「王の王、主の主」という名が記されていた。

11 Then I saw an angel standing on the sun. He cried out (in) a loud voice to all the birds flying high overhead, "Come here. Gather for God's great feast,

to eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of military officers, and the flesh of warriors, the flesh of horses and of their riders, and the flesh of all, free and slave, small and great."

わたしはまた、一人の天使が太陽の中に立っているのを見た。この天使は、大声で叫び、空高く飛んでいるすべての鳥にこう言った。「さあ、神の大宴会に集まれ。

王の肉、千人隊長の肉、権力者の肉を食べよ。また、馬とそれに乗る者の肉、あらゆる自由な身分の者、奴隷、小さな者や大きな者たちの肉を食べよ。」

Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered to fight against the one riding the horse and against his army.

わたしはまた、あの獣と、地上の王たちとその軍勢とが、馬に乗っている方とその軍勢に対して戦うために、集まっているのを見た。

The beast was caught and with it the false prophet 12 who had performed in its sight the signs by which he led astray those who had accepted the mark of the beast and those who had worshiped its image. The two were thrown alive into the fiery pool burning with sulfur.

しかし、獣は捕らえられ、また、獣の前でしるしを行った偽預言者も、一緒に捕らえられた。このしるしによって、獣の刻印を受けた者や、獣の像を拝んでいた者どもは、惑わされていたのであった。獣と偽預言者の両者は、生きたまま硫黄の燃えている火の池に投げ込まれた。

The rest were killed by the sword that came out of the mouth of the one riding the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh.

残りの者どもは、馬に乗っている方の口から出ている剣で殺され、すべての鳥は、彼らの肉を飽きるほど食べた。
Chapter 19
