あらら・・・ペテロ（岩の意：　日本語で”がんちゃん”と呼ばせて頂きましょう。）イエスの躓きの予言を本気で１００％打ち消しています。本当にそう思っていたのだと思います。誰しも覚えがあることです。敬愛する先生にこういう目で見られたらショックで、強く否定するでしょう。

このがんちゃん、しかも　これまでのマタイによる福音書の中で、弟子を代表して話すことが多いのですが、イエスの真意を知らずに、頓珍漢な受け答えをしたり、世俗的思考でイエスを諭しちゃったりする場面もありました。（知らぬが仏です）まだ自分を知らない状態です。

ここでも、”死んでも裏切りません！”と言っています。

後に聖書学者ミュラーはここに①「救い主の口に逆らい、その誤りを正そうとすることによって神に背く罪」②「自分自身の力を信頼することによって、自分自身に背く罪」③「自分を他人よりも神聖であるとすることによって、他の弟子たちに背く罪」の３つがあると指摘しています。厳しい

いやはや何気ない言葉の中に　その人の勘違いが鏡に映した様に現れるのですね。　毎日体験することですが。

しかしイエスはマタイによる福音書16章で、「この岩の上に私の教会を建てよう」「あなたに天国の鍵を預けよう」と仰り、その言葉どおり岩ちゃんは初代ローマ教皇となります。そこまでの道筋は、とてつもない挫折と苦難の連続になるのですが。

元々漁師で激情的なところもあり、決して冷静沈着なリーダー像でも、頼れる天才や秀才とも違います。

人間の弱さや愚かさ、深刻な挫折の経験を持つペテロを　リーダーに選ばれたイエスの真意。それは何だったのでしょうか。

17番コラールの最後　腕と膝の上に、、、というのは、ミケランジェロのピエタ（悲しみの聖母）の構図を思わせますね。

2回目のマタイ受難曲 13）

最後の晩餐を終え、イエスと弟子たちは　エルサレムから半マイルほど離れたオリーブ山に向かいます。

Und da sie den Lobgesang gesprochen hatten, gingen sie hinaus an den Ölberg. Da sprach Jesus zu ihnen: (And when they had sung the song of praise, they went out to the Mount of Olives.Then Jesus said to them:)
一同は賛美歌を歌った後、オリーブ山に登った。そこでイエスは弟子達に言った。

In dieser Nacht werdet ihr euch alle ärgern an mir.Denn es stehet geschrieben: Ich werde den Hirten schlagen,und die Schafe der Herbe werden sich zerstreuen. Wenn ich aber auferstehe,will ich vor euch higehen in Galiläam. まさに今夜、あなた方は皆私に躓くだろう。何故なら（旧約）聖書にこう書いてあるからだ。
私は羊飼いを撃ち、羊の群れは散ってしまう。
しかし私が復活した時には、あなた方に先立ってガラリヤに行く。

14番では楽器群が、まるで落語のお囃子の様にナレーションをサポートします。

”オリーブ山に登り、、、”の所はチェロが　トトトト・・・・　と駆け上がります。その後「今夜躓くであろう」と言われると悲しそうに　スラーのかかった♫のが二つ。
この躓く具体的な内容は、16番以降に明らかになります。

”羊飼いを打ち”の所では、スタッカートでパンパンと打たれる様子。これはイエスが旧約聖書　ゼカリア書を引用したもので、＜神の手に撃たれる形での受難と、散らされる羊のような弟子達の逃走＞を予言しているそうです。
”しかし、私が復活した時には”の所は　♬が３度並行で上行し、急に晴れた様になる、、、という調子です。

最後の「ガリラヤに行く」ですが、ガリラヤはイエスが貧しい人たちの中に入って活動した本拠地であったそうです。

そういえば、マザーテレサがインドのカルカッタで、貧しい中でも最も貧しい人達の所に修道会を立ち上げ、暮らし、今そこにお墓があるのを見ても、「本拠地で再開しましょう」というのは、弟子達にとってどれほど温かい約束だったことか。

そして15番は、パウル・ゲールハルト作　受難節コラール「おお、主の御頭、血と傷に覆われ（1656）」の5節です。
（10節まであります）
当時礼拝では、本当に全部歌われていたそうです。18世紀後半に英国からドイツ語圏のプロテスタント教会を訪ねたC.バーニーがこう記しています。「讃美歌があまりに長いので、向いのカフェで一服していたが、コーヒーを飲んで戻っても、まだ同じ讃美歌が歌われていて驚いた」と。　
確かにイギリス人の方が気短だったようで、ヘンデルのヴァイオリン・ソナタの緩徐楽章が短いのも、当時聴衆がゆっくりした楽章を聞いていられなかったからと伝わります。お国柄というのは、本当に面白いですね。

マタイ受難曲第二部で転びを経験する弟子と、後に弟子になったパウロを、忍耐、練達、希望というキーワードで考えるうち、混同していました。昔から聞きなれている桃太郎と浦島太郎が混ざってしまったかのような、痛恨のミス。。・・・何ということ　（老化はこうして忍び寄っている）申し訳ありませんでした

Nr.12 Retitativ (Soprano)

Wiewohl mein Herz in Tränen schwimmt, Daß Jesus von mir Abschied nimmt, So macht mich doch sein Testament erfreut: Sein Fleisch und Blut,o Kostbarkeit, Vermacht er mir in meine Hände. Wie er es auf der Welt mit denen Seinen Nicht böse können meinen, So liebt er sie bis an das Ende.

(Although me heart is swimming in tears because Jesus takes leave of me,yet his testament makes me joyful. His flesh and blood, O precious thing, he gives over into my hands. Just as he could not mean and harm to his own in this world, so he loves them even to the end. )

私の心は涙の中を漂う。イエスが私にお別れをお告げになるのだから。それでも、お約束の言葉は私を喜ばせる。御自分の肉と血！　なんと尊いものを、イエスは私の手に遺して下さったことか。
世にある時、従う者たちを決して邪険に扱われなかったイエスは、その者たちを、世の終わりまで愛して下さるのだ。

12番13番にはオーボエ・ダモーレ（愛のオーボエ）という楽器が使われています。バッハがしばしば愛の象徴として用いる楽器です。

12番出だしはイエスが死に向かっていることへの悲しみで涙の中で彷徨うようですが、後半は　永遠の記念、最後の晩餐で示された　聖体拝領への喜びが表現されます。

オーボエ・ダモーレは涙の中を泳いでいる様な哀しみを　3度の音程を保ちつつ伝えていますが（スラーがかかった3連音符が液体のようにスムーズである）、最後のフレーズ「So liebt er sie bis an das Ende」（世の終わりまで愛して下さるのだ。）の所　ソプラノは1オクターヴ半も下る音型で、決然と宣言します。（この後　この誓いがゆすぶられることになるとは知らずに・・・）
最高音はliebt（愛して）であり、最低音はEnde(終わり)　になっています。

13番は明るく、弾む心で純真に歌われる、「イエスに心を捧げる」ことに焦点を当てたアリアです。

しかし、受難曲が進むにつれて、実は弟子であることを証明するための　憂鬱な現実が迫っています。本当にイエスを信じていたかどうかは　この後明らかになります。

しかし、こうした試練はキリスト者として鍛えられ、強められ、深められ、成熟した信仰を持つために、欠かせない出来事でした。

この時の弟子ではなく、のちに加わるサウロ（パウロ）という人物は、キリスト者を迫害する立場から、後にあることがあって回心するのですが、

そのサウロ、イエスの死後　布教で各地を回りますが、　後に新約聖書ローマの使徒への手紙５章でこの様に話すまでになります。

希望は私たちを欺くということがありません。
わたしたちに与えられた聖霊によって、神の愛が私たちに注がれているからです。

2回目のマタイ受難曲 10）

昨日緊急事態宣言が延長になりました。いかがお過ごしでしょうか。

11番では、この場面から2000年以上教会で続けられている聖体拝領の場面が描かれます。今年3月から2か月以上に亘って教会が閉鎖され　ミサ（礼拝）で一番大切な聖体拝領（聖餐式）を受けられないのは、恐らくこの2000年で初めての事かと思います。

Evangelist:

Er antwortete und sprach : (He answered,and said)　
イエスはお答えになった。

Jesus:
Der mit der Hand mit mir in die Schüssel tauchet,der wird mich verraten.　Des Menshen Sohn　gehet zwar dahin,wie von ihm gechrieben stehet; doch wehe Menschen,durch welchen　des Menschen Sohn verraten wird! Es wäre ihm　besser, daß derselbige Mensch noch nie geboren wäre.　

(The one who dips his hand in the dish with me will betray me.To be sure,the Son of Man will go to　his and ,as it is written about him,but woe to the　man by whom the Son of Man will be betrayed ! It would be better for him, if that very man had never even been born.)　
「私と一緒に鉢に手を浸している者が、私を裏切る。人の子は、聖書に書いてある通り確かに去っていく。

今後、ぶどうの実から作ったものを飲むことは決してあるまい。」

バッハが読んでいた　カーロフ版の聖書には、「イエスによる裏切りの指摘は、ユダにそれを思いとどまらせるためであった」と書かれているそうです。しかし、ユダはまだ気づかない。

他の11人の弟子が「Herr!」（主よ！　私ですか？）　と言ったのに対し、ユダだけは　[Rabbi?] （私でしょうか、ラビ？）と言います。　
他の弟子とユダでは　何に魂が向かっているのかが違っていて、それはこのたった一言にも　はっきり現れています。
「隠れたるは現れる」という聖書の言葉は、こうした細かい記述にも及んでいます。

その後、主の晩餐の場面　バッハはイエスの語りをアリオーソにしています。この暖かく慈愛に満ちたフレーズ。かのアルベルト・シュヴァイツアー博士は「一度バッハがこの聖書の言葉につけた（詩の）韻律を知ってしまうと、決して他の調子でこの聖句を心に抱くことが出来なくなる。」と言ったとか。

25分36秒から11番です。

シギスヴァルト・クイケンご夫妻 今年の巡礼

いかがお過ごしでいらっしゃいますか？

今朝ベルギーから知らせがありましたので、お知らせ致します。

例年シギスヴァルトご夫妻が続けておられたスペイン、サンティアゴ・コンポステーラ巡礼（1日に12時間ほど歩き3週間で到着）

今年はベルギーのロックダウンが緩やかに解除されつつあるとはいえ、まだ国境を越えられない状態です。

そこでご夫妻はベルギー国内を今日から5月31日まで毎日２０～３０Km　歩かれるそうです。この旅をラ・プティット・バンドと新型肺炎で苦しむ世界への瞑想と祈りとして。

今秋の来日公演は、10月31日大阪　11月1日福岡　11月3日東京を予定しておりますが、緊急事態宣言終了後に改めてお知らせ致します。

曲目は　J.S.Bach　マタイ受難曲です。

Will Sigiswald Kuijken and Marleen Thiers make their annual pilgrimage this year, in spite of Corona?

Yes, they will!
They will start on May 2nd, and walk until May 31st ...

Like every year, they will dedicate their journey to their beloved baroque orchestra "La Petite Bande", with which they hope to perform until the 50th anniversary of the group, in 2022.

(The main lines of LPB's jubilee-programmation in 2022 have already been set up. It will consist of three particular projects: first an instrumental program including Mozarts concertos for 2 and 3 pianos, then a major Bach religious work, and finally Mozarts opera "Così fan tutte" staged by Marie Kuijken in 18h century theatrical style)

At the occasion of their march in May 2020, Sigiswald and Marleen would like first of all to invite all LPB-friends and -lovers to support the orchestra's project for February 2021: J.Haydn's burlesque opera "L'Infedeltà Delusa" (or "Infidelity unmasked") - a project already announced last year. Marie Kuijken has conceived a lively and heartwarming staging, based on the historical conventions as know to Haydn. Thus, the performance as a whole will be under the artistic direction of both Marie and Sigiswald.

At the same time, in this situation where the Corona virus has spread out all over the world, Sigiswald and Marleen wish to offer their thoughts and physical effort to the well-being of our mother Earth, to the salvation of the whole globe. May the virus, which by now holds so many human beings in fear and distress, finally inspire our minds and souls to change our modern way of life: through a renewed and deepened respect of the fundamental laws of nature, we have to find back the vivid conscience of the fact that our planet is ONE, and that it is the very vulnerable source of all good.

By these intentions, Sigiswald and Marleen's long walk in May 2020 will really be a pilgrimage in the traditional sense, with a outspoken spiritual dimension.

Because of the ruling Corona-preventions, it will not be possible for Sigiswald and Marleen to cross the Belgian border, and to continue their march on the Compostela-tracks from Limoges in France, where they stopped in 2019.

Therefore, they will walk exclusively in the area around the city of Kortrijk, where they live since ten years in the old beguinage.

Every day, they will start walking from their house, and come back in the evening to sleep there.

Every day, before leaving, they will do a meditation, for the well-being of La Petite Bande and the entire world.

They will prepare their meal and take it with them in their rucksack. They will walk every day between 20 and 30 km.

Their computer at home will remain firmly closed during the entire period of their walk.

They will not take with them a mobile phone or other electronic device - nor any musical instrument…

Only walking sticks and rucksack. That will do!

Concerning Haydn's Infedeltà Delusa-project for February 2021: fortunately, LPB owns already the necessary costumes - but nevertheless the global production costs are esteemed to be around 25000 €...

2. If a total sum between 10000 € and 25000 € is reached, LPB will offer to the donors an exclusive performance of Haydn's L'Infedeltà Delusa in February 2021 - the exact date and place of which will be communicated later.

3. A video-recording of the opera-performance will be made, and after editing be transferred to each donor.

So this time, Sigiswald and Marleen will not be "living like God in France" like the flemish proverb goes, but full of gratitude they will explore the friendly region around Kortrijk, and let themselves be charmed by the beauty and the richness of their native Flanders...

弟子たちは、イエスに命じられたとおりにして、過越の食事を準備した。夕方になると、イエスは12人と一緒に食事の席に着かれた。

神殿で屠る小羊をメインディシュにした過越の聖なる食事は、ユダヤ教徒にとって最高の楽しみであったそうで、「どこで食事をしましょうか？」と　弟子達の問いかけは子供の様に無邪気で明るい。しかしここから日が暮れて行くように、だんだん影のある調性に転調していきます。

「お前たちのうちの一人が私を裏切ろうとしている」と言われて　私ですか？　Herr, bin ichs ? のセリフは11回。　11人が問い、ユダは黙っている。

すると、ユダが口を開く前に　割って入る様に、信者が歌う。「私です」と。

「ユダがイエスを売った際、ユダは自分の魂を売った」との説を知って、このコラールの歌詞が初めて全て沁みとおるものとなりました。

2回目のマタイ受難曲 ８）

今週は五月晴れ、夏日になるそうですね。

7・8曲目　前曲の「尊敬と愛」から一転してユダの「裏切り」に場面は変わります。

Nr.7 Rezitativ 福音史家

Da ging hin der Zwölfen einer mit Namen Judas Ischarioth zu den Hohenpriestern und sprach:
(Then one of the Twelve,named Judas Iscariot,went to the chief priests and said)　その時、十二人の弟子のひとりでイスカリオテのユダが祭司長たちの所へ行き、

Judas:
Was wollt ihr mir geben? Ich will ihn euch verraten. (What will you give me?)　「あの男を引き渡せば、幾らくれますか」と言った。

Evangelist:

Und sie boten ihm dreißig Silberlinge. Und von dem an suchte er Gelegenheit, daß er ihn verriete.
(And they made him an offer of thirty silver coins, And from then on ,he sought an opportunity to betray him.)　そこで彼らは銀貨30枚を払うことにした。その時からユダは、イエスを裏切る機会を狙っていた。

Nr.8 Arie (Soprano)

Blute nur, du liebes Herz ! (Bleed ,bleed, you loving heart! )　血を流されるがいい。いとしい御心！

Ach! ein Kind, das du erzogen,　(Ah! a child whom you raised)　あなたが育てた子
Das an deiner Brust gesogen, (who nursed at your breast,)　　あなたの胸で乳を吸った子が
Droht den pfleger zu ermorden, (threatens to murder its caregiver;)　今育ての親を殺そうとしている。
Denn es ist zur Schlange worden. (for it has become serpent.)　何故ならその子は蛇になったのだから。

＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊＊　この蛇Schlangeになった、、という単語　バッハは蛇が蜷局を巻いて、頭を上げこちらに向かって舌を出している様な描写をしています。また8曲めのヴァイオリンの八分音符の連続は、血が滲むかのようです。　その思いは何か。

ユダの裏切りはキリスト者にとって大きな問いです。”なぜ裏切ったのか””今ユダは地獄にいるのか”それとも、、”ユダが裏切らねば、旧約聖書の予言は実現しなかったではないか・・・”などなど。

解説には「元々ユダは会計係で、しばしば着服していた。金銭欲からだった」という説やまた「ユダはキリストに革命のリーダーを期待していたが、そうではなかったため・・・」などがあります。福音書は「サタンが入ったため」と述べています。これは、ごもっともで、「なぜか？」はそうなのだと思います。

でもそれで終わりでは、何かピンと来ません。しかし最近C.F.Terryの説を見て、「これだ！」と感じました。
　
ユダが「キリストを引き渡せば　いくらくれますか、、」と言った時　ユダは魂を売った。のだということです。

お金と引き換えにユダは一番大切なものを　お金で交換出来ないものを売った。彼は最も貧しくなった。

悪魔が一番喜ぶことは、人間が人間でなくなること。それにユダはまだ気が付かない。

そしてキリストはそれを知っている。

それはバッハが書くように「心が血を流す辛さ」であったのだと思う。これはキリストが相手を愛していたからであって、そうでなければ、恨む、切り捨てる方向に行くのではないか。

ところで逆に「一時的に魂を売ってしまった人」には良く出会います。常にお金の話しかしないのですぐ分かります。誰しも見たいものしか見ていないからです。勿論生きて行くための経済活動としてのお金の話ではありません。

その人はまだ本当に知らないのです。信頼は信頼としか、尊敬は尊敬としか　友情は友情としか　愛情は愛情としか、楽しさは楽しさとしか、幸せも幸せとしか交換出来ないことを。　

人生をなめたらいかん。破滅するぞ。と　21世紀にユダが生きていたら言うかな？

2回目のマタイ受難曲 ７）

５・６曲目
前曲で登場した女性が注いだ油が　イエスの頭上に注がれて　滴り落ちる音型を、心情を、バッハはあえて　トラヴェルソが不安定な響きになる調性　ロ短調と嬰ヘ長調で書いています。油が滴り落ちる様子が、じわっと目から溢れる聴き手（礼拝に参加する信者）の涙と重なります。　6曲目ではトラベルソの　♪　♪　♪が涙の粒に聞こえます。

一度でも「取り返しの付かない失敗をした人」「悔やんでも悔やみきれない思いをした人」なら、バッハが　”ねじれる様な音型”を「懺悔」や「痛恨、悔い改め」に使った意味を体験されるかと思います。
つまりバッハも同じ体験をされたのではないでしょうか。

それをオペラの様に大げさな表現をするのではなく、ある程度距離を置いて暗示の様に表現する。おそらく、こういった表現でしか伝えられない部分だからではないでしょうか・・・

これは当時の「スプレザトゥーラ」という表現方法でもあるそうです。
日本の俳優では高倉健さんの芝居（いや生き方そのもの？）と私は解釈しています。そこに存在するだけで　ちゃんと伝わる。それは健さんの哲学、繊細な感受性、体験、探求などなどから来るのだと思いますが、バッハもこの曲を上手く書いて・・などとは微塵も考えていなかったと思います。

痛恨の念。悔い改めの重いが伝わるかどうか、その一点に知識や経験をフルに使ったに過ぎません。

若手や経験不足の俳優さんは、上手くても　いちいち　「私が＠やっています」感が強くて見ている人が　演者に注目してしまい、ストーリーから離れて冷めてしまうものです。

スプレッザトゥーラが可能なのは　聴き手の自由な想像力、知識、能力、体験に対する奏者からの「敬意」が通じる時です。こうすることで、聴き手はアンサンブルの中に生きている様に感じます。単なる鑑賞者ではなく。

実際にラ・プティット・バンドのリハーサルでは、オペラの様につい感情たっぷりに、「私が表現してます」感を出す歌手・奏者には、何度でもダメ出しするシギスヴァルトであります。

「君のベストは尽くさないで欲しい」という表現で。（4年前は？？？で分からなかった私です　何回か言われた後、ついにシギスヴァルトから「死んだ魚のように弾いて」とまで言われてしまいました。）

2回目のマタイ受難曲 ６）

さて、ここからの場面は　武漢ウイルスが世界中に蔓延した今読むと　今までと全く違った感覚になります。当時病は罪に由来するとして、蔑まれ軽蔑の対象でありました。重い皮膚病のシモンの家でイエスが食事をとっている。それ自体も人々にとっては驚きですが、そこへ女性が高い香油を持って入って来ます。（救い主や王を”油注がれた者”という表現もあり、当時の習慣と思われます。）

Da nun Jesus war yu Bethanien, im Hause Simonis des Aussätzigen, trat yu ihm ein Weib, die hatte ein Glas mit köstlichem Wasser und goß es auf sein Haupt, da er yu Tische saß,Da das seine Jünger sahen, wurden sie unwilling und sprachen： (When Jesus was at Bethany, in the house of Simon the Leper, a woman who had a glass vessel of costly perfume came over to him and poured it upon his head, as he sat at table. When his disciples saw this. they were indignant,and said:)

さて、イエスがべタニアで重い皮膚病の人シモンの家におられたとき。一人の女が、きわめて高価な香油の入った石膏の壺を持って近寄り、食事の席に着いておられるイエスの頭に香油を注ぎかけた。弟子たちはこれを見て、憤慨して言った。

Wozu dienet dieser Unrat? Dieses Wasser hätte mögen teuer verkauft und den Armen gegeben werden.(What good is this waste ? This perfume could have been sold for a high price, and the money given to the poor !)

「なぜこんな無駄使いをするのか。高く売って、貧しい人々に施すことができたのに！」

Nr.4e Rezitativ 福音史家

Da das Jesus merkete, sprach er zu ihnen: (When Jesus perceived this ,he said to them:)

イエスはこれを知って言われた。

Jesus: イエス

Was bekümmert ihr das Weib? Sie hat ein gut Werk an mir getan. Ihr habet allezeit Armen bei euch,mich aber habt ihr allezeit.Daß man mich begraben wird, Wahrlich, ich sage euch;Wo dies Evangelium geprediget wird in der ganzen Welt, da wird man auch sagen zu ihrem Gedächtnis, was sie getan hat. (Why are you troubling the woman? She has done a good work for me. The poor you will always have with you,but you will not always have me. When she poured this perfume on my body,she did it in preparation for my burial.Truly I say to you. wherever this gospel will be preached all over the world, what she has done shall also be told,in remembrance of her.)

「なぜ、この人を困らせるのか。わたしに良いことをしてくれたのだ。貧しい人々はいつもあなたがたと一緒にいるが、わたしはいつも一緒にいるわけではない。この人はわたしの体に香油を注いで、私を葬る準備をしてくれた。はっきり言っておく。世界中どこでも、この福音が宣べ伝えられる所では、この人のしたことも記念として語り伝えられるだろう。」

この「何のための無駄遣いだ！他にもっと使い道がある」と批判する人々。毎日どこでも聞こえてくる批判です。

ここでも、一曲目のキーワードが生きてきます。　「何のためにイエスが十字架にかかったか」に対し、この人たちは、「何のために香油を使うのか」と質問をします。

しかし彼らは本当に気が付いていないのです。恐らく自分の考えは正しいと思っている。だから、かなりの圧力で批判します。相手が間違っている！と、血圧も上がった歌いっぷりです。

自分の経験からしても、こうした場合、無自覚なのかもしれませんが、実は自分のやましさ、考えの浅さや　日頃のやるべき事への怠り、そして　何となくの不平不満も上乗します。


特に不平不満が出る際は「自分のすべき事に集中していない時」や「不満を持つ余裕があったり、ある程度恵まれている立場」だったりするので驚きます。

目の前の使命に集中していると、それどころではないし、追い詰められた崖っぷちでも　それどころではないからです。

対称的に描かれるイエスは、常に慈愛のための言動からブレることがない。語り口も穏やかです。

この女性はイエスの死への準備でこの行動をしている、それも尊敬と慈愛からの行為です。それをよく分かっておられる。それが分からない、また出来ない人間は余計に腹を立て文句を言うのですね。

しかしそんな人間でも、相手が「自分の都合で言っているか」「こちらを思って愛から言っているか」（または沈黙してくれているか・・・）は誰でも感じる。そこが救いです。

そういう体験をしたら、人生は変わります。
