Will OBDSTAR DC706 Clone VW Continental Simos PCR2.1 ECU? This is a frequently asked question.
The answer is NO. DC706 can read and write PCR 2.1 ECU on bench but can’t clone this ECU. So does FC200, Launch X-prog3, Xhorse Multi Prog and many other ECU programmers.
Read VAG Simos PCR2.1 CS, PIN and MAC with OBDSTAR P003 Adapter
Read and write to clone is not working. Here is an example:
Customer has a suspect faulty ecu on a continental pcr2.1 for vw golf 2009 model and they have provided a used unit to clone into, read both ecus and managed to see immo data and eeprom and flash all fine, tried to write the eeprom and flash from the original into the donar ecu and now when you read the donor ecu it is not the same immo data as either, it looks like scrambled data,
try and load the used eeprom and flash back into the used ecu to see if it reads like it did before writing was done.
You can’t just copy data on Simos pcr2.1. You can’t clone both computers because of otp zones. Sector OTP impossible to write.
fc2
Needs Immo data transfer. Provide your eeprom and flash files of the original and donor to a professional tuner, they will recalculate your immo data. Find someone who can “merge” both files to get your ecu running.
Put virgin and adapt or do immo off.
Fit it to the vehicle a program used ecu with Odis online (sync new ECU into car). They make it easy really.
