Tips Program 2021 Kia Forte Smart Key with Active Alarm

2024-03-28 16:48:46 | 日記
Here comes the problem:

Working on a 2021 Kia Forte LXS with bladed ignition. All keys lost. Customer gained entry somehow before I arrived and alarm was active (sounding.)
The Hyde manual states no transponder on this model. No security symbol. There’s a security light when the car senses a transponder key. If there’s no transponder key there’s no light. It’s opposite from every other manufacturer out there.

It might have a transponder being a 21 but basically the new update to the BCM that they came out with makes it where you can’t start the vehicle if the alarm’s going off and you can’t deactivate the alarm without the remote.
Customer had key code so I cut a test key blade and it turn the ignition but would not start the vehicle.

How to turn the alarm off with a non-transponder key? Some of the older ones would turn off by cycling the key 6 times with foot on brake. Or does some of the Kias have transponders?

Problem solved:
Turn ignition on and leave for 30 seconds. Alarm will sound for the 30 seconds then beep twice. Used the Kia online owners manual.

Launch CRP919E BT and Autel MK808BT Pro Which is Better

Launch CRP919E BT and Autel MK808BT Pro Bluetooth bi-directional scanner which is a better buy?

Here comes an honest review from one of the obdii365‘s customers.

I recently returned the AUTEL MK808BT PRO because I encountered some issues during my one month of usage. Firstly, the battery would drain very quickly, often going from 100% to 50% in less than 2 hours. This was quite frustrating for me. Secondly, the user interface was not intuitive and difficult to navigate. Additionally, the Autel MK808BT PRO does not have the coding function that I needed as a used car dealer. Since I often handle repairs and reconditioning myself, and assist customers in changing modules and car parts, having a coding function is crucial for me.
So I decide to purchase the LAUNCH X431 CRP919EBT Bluetooth Diagnostic Tool and I regret not buying it earlier. I had the opportunity to code a new TCM for a customer's GM car yesterday and it worked flawlessly. It surpasses my old GM Tech 2 . I can program modules, keys, and key fobs with ease.
This scan tool is one of the best I have ever used. The Android 10.0 tablet is fast, the text and graphics are clear, and the overall experience is much better compared to my old scan tool. The bidirectional control capability is absolutely essential for accurate diagnosis.

The number of PIDs available is quite impressive on the few cars I tested it on, ranging from 2001 to 2014. It helped me diagnose a problem with a transmission code where this tool showed me all the data that my other, cheaper scan tool
(different brand) did not show. This is how I knew I had to replace the ECU.

OBDSTAR DC706 and Foxflash Which is better?

2024-03-26 15:04:22 | 日記
Question: I already own foxflash. I’m close to purchasing OBDSTAR DC706, Does this make sense?

Foxflash is not bad. Decent coverage. Cheap enough to take a punt on.
The DC706 is supposed to be a clone of the IO Terminal software in a standalone. Foxflash is a clone of DFB.

How do they compare?

Each tool has its pros and cons.

Foxflash has decent coverage, it will do cars, motors and agriculture/trucks ECU and covers more gearbox TCUs than DC706.

Foxflash will correct checksum automatically most of the time.

It also has VR reading. Foxflash team will manually unlock GPEC2/3/4 files to edit with hptuners.

On a side note, foxflash does not need an annual subscription.

->>>check foxflash complete test list

OBDSTAR DC706 is good at cloning. It is really good on clone GM ACDelco ECMs/PCMs. DC706 reads and writes (clones) ECUs, modules etc. Most of the stuff does work. It doesn’t calculate CHECKSUMS !!! So no good for tuning unless you have external checksum calculator.

You will be impressed with the DC706’s cloning capabilities for ECM, TCM, and BCM units. It saves so much time when replacing Ford BCM to just clone it or cloning those Global A ECM that are getting difficult to get new.

The tool has paid for itself many times over. They are updating constantly adding new features or modules. Pretty good machine to be fair.

After the one-year free upgrade expires, for end users, the annual fee for the dc706 full version is USD249. Update are fairly priced.

Sometimes software update has bugs, but all tools do that, no exception. They are quick to sort the issues. As a rule the updates do solve issues.

Very capable machine. There’s an extra or two you might want to buy as well.

It’s not a silver bullet to do all units with every feature. No tool is that way. You need to find out exactly what cars and exactly what functions you need and buy specific tool.

->>>>Check: DC706 Review Pros & Cons

I now prefer the DC706 as it’s fully independent /portable but I also like fc-200.. once additional pcms are added to dc706, it will be hard to go to fc-200.

No one tool does it all but it’s good for what it does.
