　Everyone uses Japanese every day.
Do you ever pay attention to the way you speak Japanese?
At the "Workshop on How to Speak Beautiful Japanese"
Held at Kamihara Elementary School in Naha city
on December 22 of last year, three actors from the Shiki
Theatre Company, which has presented songs and lines from
plays on a large stage to many audiences, showed the students
how to speak using the Vowel Method.
The children were able to actually experience how,
if you try to clearly speak the "a,i,u,e and o" vowels,
it is easier to get your message across to the other person.

オスプレイが重大事故
A U.S. Marine Osprey aircraft made a crash landing off
the coast of Okinawa Prefecture, the military aircraft's
first major accident in Japan.
The U.S. military grounded its entire fleet of the planes
in Japan after the accident, but resumed flights within
a week,sparking sharp local protests.
Ospreyは垂直離着陸輸送機〔オスプレイ〕。osprey〔ミサゴ〕という
タカの一種から付けられた愛称だ。
　航空機のcrashは〔墜落〕、landingは〔着陸〕で、crash landingは
〔不時着〕。動詞のgroundは〔地上にとどめる〕つまり〔飛行を停止する〕だ。
　海兵隊のオスプレイが沖縄県沖に不時着し、この軍用機による初めての
日本での重大事故となった。
　米軍は事故を受け、日本にあるこの航空機の全機を飛行停止にしたが、
１週間以内に飛行を再開し地元の激しい抗議を引き起こした。
