Gunmen killed 20 hostages, including seven Japanese, and two police officers before Bangladeshi security forces stormed an upscale restaurant in Dhaka and ended a 12-hour standoff.
“This type of situation is a first in Bangladesh….What they did here was a very heinous act,” said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
