My dream come true.

こんにちは。 今日は英語で少し書いてみようかと思います。

内容は昨年に行いましたトーストマスターズという英語クラブでの最初の自己紹介スピーチです。自分を紹介するのにあたり「自分の夢」を語りました。

つたない英語ですが、「夢は叶う！」と云う事をお伝えしたくて、せっかくなので載せることにいたしました。

Good evening everyone.

I thank you that I have speech tonight. I would like to talk about "My dream on young" as my self introduction.

When I was a little, I was a very curious girl. Especially, I was interested in the foreign country and the foreign people, that means my interest was a different culture and a different people from mine.

When I was a university student, I went to the United States for a month. And, after that, I had the three different kinds of dreams of going abroad.

The first dream was going to foreign countries with a company’s money.

Of course I could go by myself but it had the limit to travel a lots. It was necessary to work at the company I could make a business trip abroad.

Just imagine, 30 years ago was an age when the women couldn’t have the same job doing on the same footing as men did. In company I joined after graduated, the woman’s roles were only as man's assistant.

Then I decided to change the job, and joined in next company the women were working at the first line. But, I completely forgot my dreams at that time.

My work was organizing of the international conference held in domestic. However, the chance came. My boss gave me the mission that I took the guest to the international conference held in foreign countries.

I got it! 　So, first dream came true.

The second dream was that I wanted to live with my family in foreign countries.

So I needed the strong assistance necessary for this. Of course it was a guy as being my husband. I began to look for the nice guy, who can speak English, and who has the ability to live in abroad.

In those days, my parents brought me many photos and profiles of men to meet and get marriage. I asked them in every case. "Do you have the possibility of living in overseas?" It’s joke, but half was true.

It was happy or unhappy, I met the guy, fell in love and married. So this is my husband now. Fortunately he loves the foreign country much more than me. Then we had experience living in the U.S. twice. And I am still in the situation where I can go abroad with my husband if I have the financial power and time.

I got it! The second dream was fulfilled, too.

My first and second dreams were succeed by someone, of course I made effort.

How about the third one?

It was I wanted to go to foreign countries as a volunteer work, not only for my interest or my pleasure but also for giving some help to another people in developing countries.

It took long time to do this. Because I was so busy to take care of children, so the third dream was actually went somewhere. Recently, I approached the end of bringing up children, and I could spend my time for myself. Then, the volunteer work came from him and the other side.

Do you know the Kingdom of Lesotho in Africa? In there the average of life span is 35 years old because of the HID/AIDS problem. I wonder what I can do for them.

Now I am working to arrange the classic concerts. And I donated to support them from the ticket fee of the concert. The customer who buys the ticket will be automatically contributing this. In several years later, I have the plan to go to Lesotho and Tanzania for the inspection.

My old dream already seems to come true soon.

When thinking about my life, all my dreams for going to foreign countries were fulfilled almost.

So I can say that the dream will be able to come true someday if we keep continuing thinking.
