キム・チャンワンさんがサヌリム(※)時代に作った歌「わんぱく」(개구쟁이)が、2022年5月、韓国のBookBank社から絵本として出版されました。チャンワンさんが1979年に描いた「わんぱく」のアルバムジャケットをそのまま表紙にし、イ・ジョンヨン画家が挿絵を描きました。
この歌「わんぱく」は、「一緒に遊ぼう。一緒に歌おう。(僕らは)わんぱく」という歌詞が示すように、元気いっぱいのわんぱくな子供たちが主人公の歌です。歌のジャンルとしては童謡と呼べるかもしれませんが、元々曲はロック調です。
絵本では、主人公の「ワン」(チャンワンさん)をとおして、歌の世界が明るく元気に描かれています。韓国語の絵本に興味がある方にぜひ読んでほしいと思います。

Kim Chang-Wans's album “Gate” takes you to the journey through time.
"Memories are the key to open the door of time" is the message of the album.
The key words of this album are time, memories, separation, and love.The love mentioned is loving someone he cannot see anymore. In “Words in my mind”, for example, he sings love to someone with whom he was separated from, but he still loves dearly. The song continues with, “I love you are the words in my mind. We were one until the day we were separated.”
The album features 11 songs of which Old Man’s Bench is the leading song. It is more like a beautiful, touching poem rather than a song. The simple sound of the acrostic guitar and deep low voice takes you on a journey of memories through time.
