今日、午後1時から、ＮＨＫBSプレミアウムが、「ウッドストック」前篇を放映してくれた。これは、今日の芥川には、とても有り難かった。。
これでやっと、この映画が、キチンと観れるからである。
何度も、部分々を観て来たのだが、今日は、腰を据えて観る事ができた。
一番最初に出て来た、黒人歌手が、ギターを掻き鳴らしながら或る歌った、或る兵士の曲は、実に見事なものだった。彼は○○銃を持って、コンコードで戦った。
カービン銃を持ってダンケルクで戦った。
○○銃を持って朝鮮戦争を戦った。
これが終われば自由に成れると信じてた。
バーミンガムで戦った。拳を武器にして。
芥川にとって、この前篇のハイライトは、何と言っても「Crosby, Stills,＆ Nash」の「組曲、青い目のジュディー」なのである。
もともとは、元バッファロー・スプリングフィールドのスティヴン・スティルス、元バーズのデヴィッド・クロスビー、元ホリーズのグラハム・ナッシュの3人で結成した「クロスビー、スティルス&ナッシュ」（以下CS＆N）が母体であり、1969年6月、この3人でデビューアルバム『クロスビー・スティルス&ナッシュ』を発表した。
結成当初は、アコースティクな音作りと、3人のコーラスの美しさで人気を呼んだが、もっとロック的要素を強めたいというスティルスの希望に沿ってメンバーが追加されることになった。数人のミュージシャンに加入を打診したがことごとく断られ、最終的に、当時すでにソロとして活動していたニール・ヤングがギタリストとして加わることになった。
ウッドストック（1969年8月）への参加、アルバム『デジャ・ヴ』の爆発的ヒットなどにより、商業的にも知名度の点でも、CSN&Yは頂点をきわめた。しかし、バッファロー・スプリングフィールド時代以来のスティルスとニールの対立などのため、結局、ニールがこのグループに在籍にしたのは1年ほどであった。…ウィキペディアより。
