三大ギタリストの一角とも称されるイギリス出身のギタリスト、ジェフ・ベックの7年ぶりのスタジオ盤。トレヴァー・ホーンがエグゼクティブ・プロデューサーを担当、実務プロデューサーは長年ホーンの右腕として活躍してきたスティーヴ・リプソンが当たっている。4曲でジョス・ストーン、イメルダ・メイ、オリヴィア・セイフの3人の女性ヴォーカリストがゲスト参加、またほとんどの曲で64人編成のオーケストラがバックを彩っている。邦題は「エモーション・アンド・コモーション」。
トレヴァー・ホーンとジェフ・ベックは、80年代にイギリスの音楽番組"The Tube"のオープニングテーマを共作している。
