ビリー・アイドルの9年ぶりのオリジナル・スタジオ・アルバム。盟友のスティーヴ・スティーヴンスが共作／ギターで参加したことが話題に。トレヴァー・ホーンが2曲を除き、プロデュースを担当。ベースも弾いている。バグルス／エイジア／イエスのジェフリー・ダウンズがキーボードで参加、プロデューサーズのアッシュ・ソーンもドラムで参加している。 ホーン以外の曲はロサンゼルス出身の2人組の音楽ユニット、ザ・バード・アンド・ザ・ビーのグレッグ・カースティンがプロデュース。シングルカットされた「キャント・ブレイク・ミー・ダウン」はカースティンのプロデュース曲。 ビリー・アイドルとホーンとは、トム・クルーズ主演のレース映画「デイズ・オブ・サンダー」（1990）主題歌で、デイヴィッド・カバーデイルが唄った"The Last Note of Freedom"のレコーディングで面識があった。この曲はアイドルが作詞、ハンス・ジマーが作曲、ホーンがプロデュースしている。今回ホーンに依頼したのは、バラエティに富んだ曲をまとめる経験豊富さと共に、スティーヴ・スティーヴンスに最高のレコーディングを体験させたいという思いからだったそうだ。 邦題は「逆襲のアイドル」。日本盤のみライブ音源2曲を含む3曲のボーナストラックを収録。

2006年12月にレコーディングが開始。2～3週間で10曲が共作された。当初は2007年10月に"Studio1"というタイトルでリリースが告知されるも延期となる。よりアルバムの充実を図るために追加楽曲のレコーディングに入るが、他の仕事で忙しくなっている各人のスケジュール調整に苦慮しつつ断続的なレコーディングとなったそうだ。アルバム名が変更され"Watching You Out There"としてリリース告知がされるが再度延期。そして2009年頃ブレイドが脱退、バンド名が"US"と改名され、再度アルバム名が"The Path of Sydney Arthur"に変更された。その後しばらくリリースについてのアナウンスは途絶える。その間バンドは脱退したはずのブレイドも加わり断続的にライヴを行い、2010年秋の再結成バグルスでもバック・バンドとして演奏を行った。2011年夏に"Garden Of Flowers"のレコーディングが行われる。そして2011年秋に、バンド名をProducersに再変更し、来春のミニ・ツアーと5月のアルバムのリリース（タイトル名も"Made in Basing Street"に再変更）が発表された。※当初は5月28日発売だったが6月25日発売となった。
2012年10月にリリースされた日本盤にはボーナスディスクに更に2曲ボーナストラックが追加された。1曲は未発表のインストルメンタル。もう1曲は2012年9月1日"The Big Festival"出演時のライヴ音源で、リード・ヴォーカルはライアン・マロイ。
ブレイドは、ロルの勧めでグレアム・グールドマンと"Daylight"という曲を共作。故アンドリュー・ゴールドに捧げられたこの曲は2012年8月5日にリリースされたグレアムのアルバム"Love and Work"に収録されている。またジェフリー・ダウンズとDBA(Downes Braide Association)というユニットを結成。こちらも2012年10月にアルバム"Pictures of You"をリリースしている。
