英国の男性ボーカルグループ、テイク・ザットのメンバーだったロビー・ウィリアムスのソロ8thスタジオアルバム。全曲トレヴァー・ホーンがプロデュースを担当。当初はガイ・チェンバースとマーク・ロンソンとホーンとでそれぞれが分担してプロデュースを担当という体制が予定されていたが、最終的にホーンのみの単独プロデュースとなったようだ。タイトルの"Reality Killed The Video Star"はホーンがメンバーだったバグルスのヒット曲のもじり。全英チャート2位。ウィリアムスのアルバムとしては初めて1位がとれなかった作品となってしまった。邦題は「ヴィデオ・スターの悲劇」。
アルバム発売前の2009年10月20日にはBBCのTV番組"The BBC Electric Proms"で、アルバムの曲や「ラジオ・スターの悲劇」をホーンやアン・ダドリー、ロル・クレームらをバックに熱唱している。この音楽監督もホーンが担当した。また先行シングル収録の"Boies(Body Double Remix)"もホーン自らがリミックスを行っている。
