Spector/Enjoy It While It Lasts (2012)

ロンドン結成の5人組ロック・バンド、スペクターのデビュー・アルバム。トレヴァー・ホーンが2曲でプロデュース、ほかに3曲でミックス監修を担当した。邦題は「エンジョイ・イット・ホワイル・イット・ラスツ」。
Les IncompètentsとOx.Eagle.Lion.Manという2つのインディーズ・バンドを渡り歩いてきたフレッド・マクファーソンを中心に2010年に結成。インディーズ・レーベルからシングル・デビュー後、BBCの"Sound of 2012"にノミネートされるなど注目を集めてきた。
ホーンの他には、バンド自身、クレイグ・シルヴィー、トム・ヴェック、リチャード・ウィルキンソン、マーク・ランキン、ロデイード・マクドナルド、キット・ハープーンらが担当。キット・ハープーンのデビュー・アルバムはホーンが全曲プロデュースした縁がある。
もう一人アラン・スミシーなる人物がプロデュースしているが、これは何らかの理由で名前が使えない際に使われる架空の映画監督名にあやかってなのか？

【update】Trevor Horn feat. Lol Creme & Ash Soan/Producers 来日公演

トレヴァー・ホーンの初来日公演となる"Trevor Horn feat. Lol Creme & Ash Soan/Producers"が、東京・六本木、ビルボードLive東京にて行われました。2012年8月5日の初日は、1st 16:30、2nd 19:30。2日目の8月6日は、1st 19:00、2nd 21:30と、各2ステージで合計4ステージ行われました。
2日目の1stステージは、CS放送局フジテレビNEXTで生中継されました。（翌日1回のみ再放送）

チケットの販売状況を見るとあまり売れてなさそうだったのですが、両日共に格好が付くレベルにはお客が入っていました。

今回のメンバーは、

プロデューサーズのメンバーでギター担当のスティーヴ・リプソンは、当初来日がアナウンスされていたのですが途中でキャンセルとなっています。代理としてバグルス1stアルバムにも参加したフィル・パーマーが加わっています。（この後ロンドンに戻り、閉会式でジョージ・マイケルのバックを務めるとのこと）

多くの曲でリード・ヴォーカルを取ったピーター・ゴーデノは、ディペッシュ・モードのツアー・メンバーだそうです。ジュリアン・ヒントンはスタジオのセッションマンで、「シール／ソウル2」に参加しています。サイモン・ブルアは「イエス／フライ・フロム・ヒア」「ソウル2」などでアシスタント・エンジニアを担当していた若者です。
女性ヴォーカルの二人、カースティン・ジョイは欧州のオーディション番組"The Voice "イギリス版の出場者。ケイト・ウェストールはウェディング・シンガーだそうです。

バグルス、10ccのほか、フランキー・ゴーズ・トゥ・ハリウッド、シール、グレイス・ジョーンズ、t.A.T.u、イエスらの楽曲を演奏しました。珍しいところでは、ホーン・プロデュースでロッド・スチュアートがカバーした、トム・ウェイツの「ダウンタウン・トレイン」があります。
アンコールでは、「ラジオ・スターの悲劇」をサンプリングしたニッキー・ミナージュ　feat.　ウィル・アイ・アムの「チェック・イット・アウト」をホーンのラップでカバー（のカバー？）しました。

プロデューサーズのライヴのはずなのにデビュー・アルバム「メイド・イン・ベイシング・ストリート」からは何故か1曲も演奏されませんでした。
事前の「beatleg」誌でのインタビュー通り、今回はプロデューサーズではなく“トレヴァー・ホーン・バンド”のライヴだったようです。

2日目もほぼ初日と同じですが、1st、2ndステージ共にアンコールに追加でティアーズ・フォー・フィアーズの「ルール・ザ・ワールド」を演奏しました。ホーン曰く、フィル・パーマーがこの曲のオリジナル録音でギターを弾いている繋がりからだそうです。このため約85分の演奏となっています。

演奏は両日とも素晴らしかったのですが、2日目は緊張がほぐれたのか更にノリノリな演奏となっていました。

初日は、2ndステージ終了後に、トレヴァー・ホーンが袖に現れたので、気付いたお客何人かで取り囲みサインをいただきました。ロル・クレームは例外的に楽屋で一組のお客にサインをしたそうです。 

2日目は1stステージ終了後にホーンがサインをしたようです。（この日私は2ndのみ観たため不明ですが、待っている間出てきたお客がサインをもっていたのでおそらくは…）
2ndステージ終演後しばらく経ってからホーンとロル・クレームとフィル・パーマーが出てきたので、皆で取り囲みサイン攻めを。その後写真もOKとなり撮影会に。私を含め各人大興奮状態にw
鈴木慶一氏も私たちと混じりホーンと一緒に写真を撮っていました。

素晴らしい来日公演でした。私は結局3ステージ＋テレビ録画視聴と一応全ステージ観ましたが、4ステージ全て参加された方も多かったようです。
次があるかどうかちょっと厳しい気もしますが、是非来ていただきたいものです。

最後に、ステージ上でロルが話していたカタコトの日本語のあんちょこをいただきました。
