第217回 欧州の日1 European Day

5月8日に、ルクス市では欧州の日の催物がありました。EU各加盟国や欧州機関が広報や観光パンフレットを配布し、各種のコンサートが行われました。欧州議会開設50周年の記念ケーキが見物客に配られ、風船が打ち上げられました。

On May 8, 2008 there was the event of European Day. Each EU member nation and a European organization distributed public information and a tourist brochure, and various concerts were performed. A commemorative cake of the 50th anniversary European Parliament establishment was distributed to a spectator, and a balloon was launched.

今回は、5 月3日にルクス市で行われたナイト・マラソンを紹介します。子供を含む8千人が参加した市民マラソンです。人口を上回る10万人の見物客で、男子の優勝は、コース新記録の2時間15分29秒を記録したタンザニアの選手で、女子はケニアの選手でした。
This time I show you the night marathon on May 3, 2008 in Luxembourg City. It was the civil marathon that joined 8000 people including children. There were 100000 spectators. The winner was a Tanzanian men with new record of 2h15m29s and a Kenyan woman.

メーデーの5月1日に、ルクス最大の労働組合が文化フェスティバルをルクス市の文化センターで開催しました。ギリシアの踊りやアフリカ音楽などと共に各国の料理が楽しめました。

On Mayday (May 1, 2008) the biggest labour union organized the culture festival in the culture center of Luxembourg City. We could enjoy the Greek folk dance and African music with the traditional cooking of many countries.
