今回は、燃やす前の昼間の様子を紹介します。また、市中心とは別に市内の東端地区の様子も紹介します。
This time I show you the daytime landscape before the burning in the center of the city. I also show you the event of the east part district in the city.
ルクスでは、2月10日夜、冬の終わりを告げ、春を迎える伝統的な行事が各地で行われました。ケルトの時代に起源を持つ"Buurgbrennen"と呼ばれる古い行事で、ラテン語の「焼くこと」に語源があります。冬の悪い聖霊を追い払うために、十字に組んだ藁を燃やして、春の到来を祝います。
Last Sunday (Feb.10, 2008) was the Burgbrennan where all communes burn straw bales and straw crosses to say goodbye to winter and welcome in the spring.
The "Buurgbrennen" is a Luxembourgish tradition which dates from the time of the Celts and comes from the Latin verb "COM-BURO" which wants to say "to burn". Buurgbrennen consists in making a large fire on the highest coline of the village in order to drive out the bad spirits of the winter.
