☆パリ散歩 （リヴォリ通り界隈） Stroll in Paris (Rue de Rivoli)

リヴォリ通りは、コンコルド広場からサンポール地区（パリ市役所とバスティーユ広場の中間）付近まで、セーヌ川に沿ってまっすぐに伸びている街路です。コンコルド広場から歩き始めると、右手にはチュイルリー庭園やルーブル美術館が存在し、左手には1階部分がアーケードになっている豪華なホテルやお土産店などが並んでいます。
私はかってリヴォリ通りに面し、チュイルリー庭園の向かい側にあるサン・ジェームズ・アルバニーと言う名前のホテルに度々宿泊していましたので、懐かしい思い出が沢山あります。
The Rue de Rivoli is a 3km-long avenue running along the Seine from the Place de la Concorde to the area of St. Paul (siuated just between the Hotel de Ville -Municipal Office of Paris- and the place de Basille). When you start walking from the Place de la Concorde, you will find the Jardin de Tuileries and the Louvre Museum at right and the magnificent hotels and souvenir shops at left. As I used to stay at the Hotel Saint James & Albany facing the Jardin de Tuileries across the Rue Rovoli, I have a lot of memories about this neigborhood.

今回は、この近所を散歩してみましょう。セーヌ川を右手にしてチュイルリー庭園をルーブル美術館に向かって散策すると、ジェネラル・ルモイエ通りと言う道路に突き当たります。ここで左側を見ると、ピラミッド広場があります。そこには、ジャンヌダルクの金張りの騎馬像が建っています。
Let's enjoy the walk in this neighborhood. When you stroll in the Jardin de Tuileries toward the Louvre Museum, you will come to the Avenue du Gal. Lemonnier. If you turn your eye to the left, you will find the Place des Pyramides. At this place, there is a gold plated statue of Joan d'Arc on horseback.

この広場でチュイルリー庭園の反対方向に歩いて行くと、すぐにサントノレ通りに出会います。ここから左に曲がってサントノレ通りを歩いてみましょう。数分歩くと、マルシェ・サントノレ通りがあり、この道を辿るとサントノレ・マーケットがあります。サントノレ通りに戻って更に数分歩いて行くと、右手にヴァンドーム広場が現れます。この広場の中央には、最上部にナポレオン像が立っている円柱が聳えています。周囲は、法務省のビル、宝石店、ホテル・リッツなどの高級ホテルなどで囲まれており、堂々とした雰囲気が漂っています。
If you proceed in the direction opposite to the Jardin de Tuileries, you will come to the Rue de St-Honore. If you turn to the left, there will be the Place du Marche St-Honore and the Place Vendome at the right side. At the center of the Place de Vendome, a Vendome column stands 43m high with the satue of Napoleon at its top. Being surrounded by the building of the Ministry of Justice as well as the high-end hotels and jewlers, this place will impress you with the deluxe and magnificent atmosphere.
