2009年の初旬に滞在していたホテルはセーヌ川左岸の近くでしたので、折に触れてはこの近辺のセーヌ河畔を巡りました。
As the left bank of the Seine was close to the hotel I stayed at early June of 2009, I took a walk from time to time along the River Seine in this neighborhood.
セーヌ川にかかっている橋のなかで最も華麗な橋と称されるは、アレクサンドル3世橋です。この橋は1900年のパリ万国博の折に、グランパレ及びプチパレと同時に建設された歴史を持っています。橋の両側にはアール・ヌボーの街頭が並び、四隅にある17mの柱の上には、金色のペガサスの像が立っています。このような装飾類を見ていると、フランス文化の重みを感じます。
It is the Alexandre III bridge that is reputed as the most beautuful bridge among the bridges over the Seine. Historically, this bridge was built on the occasion of the Paris Universal Exposition of 1900 along with the Grand and Petit Palais. The both sides of this bridge are lined with the lampposts of Art-Nouveau style and at each end is constructed a 17m high pillar topped with the gold-colored Pegasus. Viewing these decorations gave me the deep impression about the culture of France.
この橋からセーヌ川左岸の上流にに沿って、アンヴァリッド橋そしてアルマ橋まで歩くのが、私のひとつの散歩コースでした。アルマ橋からは、バトー・ムーシュの乗り場が見えます。これらの橋の上に佇んでセーヌ川に浮かぶ色々な船を見ていると、心地よい時間が流れて行きます。
One of my favorite walkway was to walk along the left bank of the Seine toward the upstream from this bridge to the bridge of Invalides and further to the bridge of l'Alma. I could recognize the boarding point of the Bateaux Mouches from the bridge of l'Alma. I spent some nice time at the bridge seeing various kinds of boats on the Seine.
