初登場1位のスーザン・ボイルさん(48歳)。ちょっと太めな普通のおばさんなんですよ。女性漫才コンビ「今いくよ・くるよ」の「くるよちゃん」に似てますでしょうか??
このスーザンさんが今年(2009年)イギリスのオーディションテレビ番組『Britains Got Talent 2009』に出場。あまりにも普通のおばさんなため客席は「このひと何しに来たの??」とあきれ顔。
ところがミュージカル曲「夢やぶれて (I Dreamed A Dream)」を歌い出したとたん観客だけでなく審査員までもがスタンディングオベーションの大喝さい。
そんなこんなでリリースされたのがデビューアルバム『I Dreamed A Dream』(2009年11月25日国内盤発売)というワケです。

ちなみにスーザンさんのアルバム初週セールス70万1千枚は2009年のベスト記録。
