昨日(2009年05月07日)、赤坂の「Billboard Live TOKYO」にて「Eddie Levert of THE O'JAYS」の第1ステージ(19:00～)を拝見しました。
今年67歳となるエディ・レヴァートの熱唱ぶりは近年まれにみる迫力のステージだったと思いますよ。オージェイズの全盛期をタイムリーに聞いている世代ではありませんが、今は亡き息子さん(Gerald LeVert)のナンバーを取り上げたパートは心に迫るものがありました。以下3曲。

01. Already Missing You

Gerald LeVert(息子)とEddie LeVert, Sr.(父)による共演アルバム『Father & Son』(1995年)からの1stカット。1995年11月11日付全米R&Bチャート7位～2週間を記録しました。

02. Baby Hold On To Me

Gerald LeVertの1stソロアルバム『Private Line』(1991年)からの2ndシングル。アルバムではお父さんのEddie LeVertと息の合ったデュエットを聞かせてくれます。1992年02月29日付全米R&Bチャート1位に輝きました。
