ジャマイカ出身マイアミ在住の男性レゲエシンガー、ショーン・キングストン君(17歳)。1stアルバム『Sean Kingston』(2007年08月29日国内盤発売)からの公式デビューシングル「Beautiful Girls」は、Ben E. King「Stand By Me」のメロディを使ったゆる～いグルーヴ感たっぷりのナンバーです。

先週のビルボード本誌は「デジタルシングル(ダウンロード)の発売開始により来週はトップになるかも」とコメント。この予想どおりデジタルソングチャート初登場1位、デジタルトラックチャート初登場1位をマークし、全米シングルチャート(HOT 100)ナンバーワンに輝きました。発売1週間のダウンロード数はなんと26万件。Rihanna「Umbrella」の発売1週間目27万7千件に次ぐ歴代2位の記録となっています。
