ソフトより上の、ネイティブチェック

アメリカ人のクリスチャンの姉妹が、チェックしてくれました
翻訳ソフトにはない、霊的な視線で、直してくれました。

「神様に創造された人間はだれでも、神のことばを聞いて信じたら、力を得ることができます。」
と私が書いた文章を翻訳ソフトが
Any human being created by God can gain power if he hears and believes the Word of God.

と翻訳してくれたのですが、気になる点一つあると知らせてくれたのです。

最後の文に「Any human being created by God can gain power...」と書いていますが、もしかしてそれは元々「力を得る」という意味伝えたがっていましたか。

英語で「gain power」とはキリスト教に関してちょっと良くないニュアンスがある気がします。
なんという、こういうことしたらもっとパワーがゲットできるみたいで…

自己中心から生まれたって感じです。

「Gain power」の代わりに、
「will be strengthened by God」とか
「will be empowered by God」の方が相応しいと思います。

あるいは、意味がちょっと変わりますが、キリスト教のコンテクストの中で、
「will be set free」とか
「will know true life in Christ 」の方が使われています。

正直に言わせてもらうなら、それの方が合っていると思いす。

彼女は日本語もとても上手で、英語、日本語、どちらからも見てくださいました。
翻訳ソフトはクリスチャンではないのです。
私は、ネイティブクリスチャンに見てもらえて、本当に素晴らしいです

イアンは、カナダには悲しい歴史があると言って、カナダ先住民族の過去と現状について話してくれました。そして、英語の聞き取り能力に合わせて、丁寧に優しい言葉で教えてくれました。いつもの弾けるような笑い声はなくて、真剣な表情でした。

そして、日本のアイヌ民族、今も残る被差別地域についても、関心を持っています。
