私は大体の場合、編むものを決めてから毛糸を買うのではなく、毛糸を買ってしまってから（数年あたためたのち）編み始めます。そんなわけで、限られた糸で、寸法やディテールを決めながら編むのに有利と思われる「首から編むニット」は結構好きです。
I like top down knitting because I can knit exmining details or length of knits.
しかし、よく見かける首から編むパターンでは、前後身頃の高さの差がないものが殆ど。それに、首周りもラグラン線でスクエアネックになっているものばかりだと思います。
But I can't find top down patterns that have difference of fronts and back length, and not have square-ish necklines.
そこで、私は引き返し編みを使う事により、首周りの前後身頃の差を作って作品を編み、「きちんと書いて残す」事にしました。
Then, I designed this vest which has difference of fronts and back neck length and curved necklines by using short row method, and decided to write patten.
パターンを書いたのはいいのですが、引き返し編みをこの場で詳しく説明するのは難しいし避けたい。しかし引き返しを使った事のない方にももしかしたらここを見てもらえるかも知れないと思い、引き返し無しの（ある意味一般的な）パターンも作ってみました。こちらは、首が詰まったバージョンと首が開いたバージョンがあります。そして、先の引き返しを使ったパターンは、この首が詰まったバージョンと開いたバージョンの中間の寸法を使ってあります。
Yes, I wrote a pattern, but for everyone's convenient, I wrote other pattern which isn't need short rows. This easier pattern has two options, tight neck and wide neck. So, former pattern with short row has hybrid shape of theirs.
このパターンは、ワンサイズになります。しかし、編地のゲージを替える事によって違うサイズを得る事が可能です。例えば、
My pattern is one size, but if you choose different weight of yarn, you will get appropriate sizes. Thus,

If your tension is 22 sts / 10cm, you will get finished chest at 60cm (my sample - purple one about 1-2 years)
Same as this,
28 sts / 10cm, - chest at 47cm (for newborn baby?)
25 sts / 10cm, - chest at 53cm
20 sts / 10cm, - chest at 66cm
18 sts / 10cm, - chest at 73cm (my sample #2 - beige one about 5-6 years)
15 sts / 10cm, - chest at 88cm (will fits my chest! I have to knit this next winter...)
