日向薬師 is a historic temple located in Isehara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. It is part of the Koyasan Shingon sect and is known for its main deity, the Yakushi Triad. The temple, originally known as Hinatayama Ryōzenji, was founded by the monk Gyōki around 716 AD and is one of Japan’s three major Yakushi temples. It houses several important cultural assets, including statues from the Kamakura period. The temple is also famous for its natural surroundings, including an 800-year-old cedar tree designated as a natural monument. A unique point of this shrine is its huge thatched roof.
