アンドレ・リュウ（André Rieu, 1949年10月1日 - ）は、オランダの音楽家・指揮者・ヴァイオリニスト。マーストリヒト出身。
He is married to Marjorie Rieu, who works with him full-time as production manager, and has two sons, Marc and Pierre.
He speaks (in order of fluency) Limburgisch, Dutch, English, German, French, Italian and Spanish.
ステージ上のこだわり
世界中で演奏活動を行い、ヨーロッパやアメリカで爆発的な人気を誇っている音楽家である。近年では日本をはじめ、アジア各国でもその演奏は知られるようになった。
「音楽は楽しむもの」という信念のもと、人々にクラシック音楽を楽しく・気軽に楽しめるように、各種ユニークな演出を試みながら指揮・演奏をするスタイルをとっている。
演奏するメンバーの衣装も、曲のイメージに合わせて、全く別の服や民族衣装に着替えたりすることもある。また、観客が気軽に参加できる場面も用意されている。
自身でヨハン・シュトラウス・オーケストラを結成し、ヨハン・シュトラウス2世などのウィンナワルツに特に造詣が深いことでも知られている。
日本での演奏活動
2001年10月に、初めて東京でコンサートを開いて以来、ほぼ毎年秋（2005年・2008・2010年は開催なし、2009年は3月に開催）に日本でのコンサートツアーを行なう。会場の規模の関係で、派手で大がかりな演出は出来ないものの、カラフルな衣装に奇想天外なパフォーマンスを随所に盛り込んでいる。また、公演の終盤では美しく青きドナウの演奏に合わせ、ステージ前で即興のダンスタイムもあり、これらを楽しみに会場に来るファンも少なからずいる。
坂本九のヒット曲「上を向いて歩こう」や、長崎県の童謡である「でんでらりゅう」、2002年公開の映画『千と千尋の神隠し』（宮崎駿監督）の主題歌を演奏するなど、日本においても知名度が高くなった音楽家である。

日本公演時の動画を探しているのですが、まだ成功していません。
アンドレリュウ氏に関係する動画の多いのにはビックリしました。
これもその一つです。
テツの好きな、「ヴェルディ 歌劇《アイーダ》凱旋行進曲」
動画の中に、アキン君の演奏姿が見えます。やはり、3歳頃の映像でしょうか・・・。
演奏の途中で、彼に楽譜のページを教えてくれたり、何回も暖かい眼差しで、彼を見守る隣席の団員の姿も見えます。コンサートの場所や開催日は不明です。

I absolutely LOVE Amazing Grace! Today, 04/25/13, the Memorial Service for the 14 fire fighters killed in the fertilizer plant explosion and fire was held in West, Texas. It was the final hymn played at the conclusion of the service. The song was played on bagpipes by fire fighters who were in attendance from across the country and Canada. Believe me when I say there was not one dry eye among the 20,000+ in attendance for this memorial service. May these 14 fire fighters Rest in Peace.

M a a s t r i c h t ([maːˈstʁɪçt] (southern Dutch) or [maːˈstɾɪxt] ( listen) (northern); Limburgish (incl. Maastrichtian) Mestreech [məˈstʁeːç]; French Maëstricht (archaic); Spanish Mastrique (archaic)) is a city in the Netherlands. It is located in the southern part of the Dutch province of Limburg, of which it is the capital.
Maastricht developed from a Roman settlement to a religious centre, a garrison city and an early industrial city.
Nowadays, it is known as a city of history, culture, local folklore and education. Furthermore, it has become known, by way of the Maastricht Treaty, as the birthplace of the European Union, European citizenship, and the single European currency, the euro. The town is popular with tourists for shopping and recreation, and has a large growing international student population. Maastricht is a member of the Most Ancient European Towns Network and is part of the Meuse-Rhine Euroregion, which includes nearby cities Aachen, Eupen, Hasselt, Liège and Tongeren.
Maastricht is situated on both sides of the Meuse river (Dutch: Maas) in the south-eastern part of the Netherlands, on the Belgian border (with both the Dutch-speaking Flemish and French-speaking Walloon region within easy reach from the city centre) and near the German border.
Maastricht is known for its picturesque squares, romantic streets, and historical buildings. The tourist information office (VVV) is located in the Dinghuis, a 15th-century former town hall and law courts building on the corner of Grote Staat and Kleine Staat.
Every year, André Rieu and his Johann Strauss orchestra gives a few evenings concert in the center of the city named "Vrijthof"
Vrijthof, the best-known square in the city, with sights as the Sint-Servaas Basiliek, the Romanesque church of Saint Servatius. The tomb of Saint Servatius in the crypt is a favoured place of pilgrimage: Pope John Paul II visited here in 1985.
The Sint-Janskerk, a sandstone Gothic church dedicated to Saint John the Baptist with a distinctive red tower. Also the" Theater aan het Vrijthof", the main city theatre, with a Neoclassical façade.
